Oriental Dream
I've been trying Aaron Terence Hughes fragrances and I've had the chance to try quite a few, this one was one of the ones I'd say are worth a review online to get more people to purchase.

It's quite resinous and reminds me a bit of Amouage Interlude Man in that quality. It's very performant and the Oud is extremely apperent in all points of its time on the skin. The longevity is around 12 hours on my skin (most fragrances don't even last 5) and the projection is amazing, like most aaron terence hughes fragrances. It projects every well for at least 6 hours then it becomes more moderate but it's still wayy ahead of anything else on the market since even on the likes of Ombre Nomade the projection after 4 hours starts to be non existent; this is not the case here.

The rose is not strong at all, and you really get the fruitiness from the dates and from the rasberry. Those fruity notes make the more strong type of Oud more palatable and its quite enjoyable even for people who are not big on oud. This also uses true oud and not a synthetic or molecule variant which makes it an amazing value for money since its extremely hard to find actual oud fragrance on this market at the moment.

In terms of similarity, it's quite similar to ombre nomade and amouage interlude man, I'd say its a strong mix of the two with a much more apperent oud note and without the leather. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who thinks they'd like the notes or if they would like to get into more oriental perfumery.

ATH's Oud 2020 - In or Out?!
Absolutely no "typical" oud fragrance!

The so popular Tom Ford Oud Wood comes against it (value-free) angular, edgy, dry and the typical oud is the complete fragrance course very woody superficially present.
Aarons Oud 2020 starts quite perceptible (as the name reveals) with oud, which is also present in the entire course of the fragrance, but it acts from the beginning very round and soft.
After the start, first fresh, then ripe fruits join in. Yes, I smell actually, raspberries, dried dates and also amber from the pyramid.
Oud moves more and more into the background remains but somehow, somewhere still there. Vanilla comes in and it remains fruit-sweet, but not too or even disturbingly sweet.

Longevity & sillage are as expected just on a damn good level, however, not as extreme and "intrusive" as other ATH's.

Somewhere between TF and ATH, by the way, I would sort Carved Oud by Thameen. MMn also an absolutely successful and balanced Oud fragrance.

No Oud
Actually slight similarity to Interlude, but mMn is much more harmonious. Of all the fragrances I have ever smelled my absolute favorite.
The durability is also already very violent. On jackets the scent lasts for several weeks, Sillage is upper average. But if you are looking for a classic oud scent you should try Chocolate, Oud & Rose.

A brute performance
One thing is a fact: Oud (2020) is definitely one of the strongest fragrances I've ever worn and I really like it. The performance is really great. On my skin, it lasts around 48 hours despite showering and has a brutal sillage.

The top note starts sweet, fruity and floral thanks to raspberries, orange peel and lots of rose water. The heart note is oriental-spicy but also gourmand with aromas of dates, allspice, nutmeg, cloves and some cinnamon. The base continues to offer spicy, balsamic, woody, resinous and sweet notes of bourbon vanilla, amber, benzoin, sandalwood, oud and cedarwood.

If you value effervescent fragrances with enormous longevity and sillage, you should definitely try Oud (2020). Once again, I would like to thank Nick for the many bottlings.

What Ombre Nomade could have been
First of all, I have to say that my travel size of Oud (2020) is a bit older, I was lucky enough to get my hands on some fragrances from ATH without the whole customs issue during the Brexit transition period. So I can't quite tell if the fragrance still smells the same as it did a few years ago.

For me, Oud (2020) is thematically very similar to Ombre Nomade, even if the fragrances smell completely different. In the heart, we also have a raspberry-oud combination, and benzoin is also included here. However, the Oud (2020) is much more natural and shows how high-quality this combination could be with the addition of real oud.

The raspberry note is much more natural than in Ombre Nomade and almost smells like an unripe raspberry. At times, the fragrance even reminds me of a fruit tea note when you smell the tea bag. However, the fruity, barely sweet side of the fragrance is only the support of the star of the show: the oud. Here we don't have a leathery oud, as in Ombre Nomade, but a beautiful, balsamic, dark oud that plays beautifully with the other notes. Animalicism is absent. If you want to try a fragrance with the smell of real oud, this is the one for you. Insanely beautifully made and I hardly know any other fragrance like it. I can also smell a base of patchouli here, but it is clearly in the background and the vanilla is really only used very delicately.

Longevity is typically very good at ATH, which is also a side effect of using real oud. In my experience, the projection here is not quite as strong as in Tabac, for example; the fragrance tends to waft around you without shouting too loudly. Very pleasant and much more refined than the Ombre Nomade
P/L is unfortunately very difficult. The fragrance itself is not that cheap, but due to the use of 5% real oud it is still understandable. Due to Brexit and the shipping problems, the fragrance has sadly become a rarity. I sincerely hope that ATH manages to gain a foothold somewhere in Europe in the future and not just in a perfumery where the fragrances are sold out within a minute of release. Of the 15 ATH fragrances I have tested so far, this is an absolute highlight and a prime example of how an oud fragrance should be realized.
