The true boss of the Kirsch series
In addition to the usual and generally known cherry fragrances, I came across this fragrance, tested it and immediately went on a search to order it. But it is very difficult to get as it can only be ordered from England and is sold out most of the time!

A wonderful interplay of cherry, sweetness and spice makes this masterpiece my personal favorite in the world of cherry fragrances.

The cherry in particular is finally the kind of cherry that I have always wanted in a good fragrance. Smells absolutely natural and like a dark cherry that has ripened perfectly.

Longevity and sillage are good. If you get one, you can't go wrong here in terms of value for money.

A better cherry fragrance?
So this is my first ever bottle of a cherry fragrance. I had tried the Tom Ford line of cherry formulations (Lost Cherry, Cherry Smoke, etc) and I was never really a fan of them. Mostly because the cherry note was simply gone after 2 hours of wearing. Generally speaking, they're always in a bad spot of them being too weak and not bold enough to be date fragrances and yet not subtle enough to be an everyday wear. It's just something you might throw on on an evening at best.

However, Aaron's interpretation completely changed my view on cherry focused formulations. First off, the cherry note lasts from the first moment of spraying to its far dry down. The opening is a little harsh but after a few minutes when it settles down it's extremely nice. The scent profile of this scent is very dark and spicy, probably because of the Thai Oud on the base of the formulation, along with the almonds and dark chocolate which are extremely apparent in this formulation. If you like cherry fragrances as a scent profile and you always wanted them being "darker" and stronger and more bold, this is definitely for you. However do keep in mind this does have Oud in its formulation so it may be challenging for some people. However this is a very beginner oud formulation and from my experience most people seem to like the way it smells.

Now for performance, as usual with Aaron's work, it's extremely long lasting and extremely projecting. I had a spray on my arm yesterday at around the afternoon part of the day, and the thing is still on my arm and its not even a skin scent yet. In terms of projection, it's very airy and there's a wall of fragrance around you. I wouldn't say its absolutely room filling but 6ft projection is good enough for most people. Especially with the type of scent this is.

Overall, if you like the scent profile and Oud/Spice type scents this is definitely for you.

The cherry-ventus
The title may be confusing... What I mean is that this fragrance simply has an extremely pleasing DNA, even if it is clearly a niche fragrance for me.

It starts with a sour, slightly synthetic cherry note; it reminds me strongly of the little cherry lollipops that used to be served at carnival. At the beginning, the fragrance is a little scratchy, but in a good way.
Then the fragrance takes a slightly sweeter, rounder and fuller direction. The cherry remains, but the fragrance becomes a little sweeter and woodier. A little marzipan also joins in.
Ultimately, what remains is a sweet cherry with slight woody and alcoholic notes.

I believe that the synthetic sour cherry with the woods is what gives the fragrance this incredibly pleasing DNA. It is quite unusual, but it just seems to appeal to everyone.

H/S are, as is typical for Aaron, very good, even if "Raw Cherry" is rather in the lower mid-range of Aaron's gourmand fragrances.

P/L is simply top, especially with all the high-quality materials that Aaron uses in his fragrances; I still don't know how he doesn't do a minus business.

Great fragrance with a clear sample recommendation. The next restock will be on Aaron's website in January.

Aaron has found the Lost Cherry
Here we have Aaron's answer to the very well-known Lost Cherry by TF.
In stark contrast to the original, however, Aaron takes a different approach to the idea and makes the fragrance a lot better for me.

The fragrance starts with a very great and authentic ripe cherry. While the scent of TF is more reminiscent of a synthetic maraschino cherry or a sweet cherry juice, the Raw Cherry is much less shrill and rather darker and more restrained... more authentic.

The alcoholic note in Lost Cherry in combination with the bitter almond always made me think of Amaretto. In this fragrance, it's more of a pleasantly sweet cherry liqueur that soon blends with chocolate. A modern and very high-quality Mon Cheri, so to speak?

You can't really smell the oud or the rose, but what is striking is that this fragrance is much more niche than Lost Cherry and also has a more masculine feel. Compared to LC, the fragrance is much darker and more authentic and at the same time sweet and mouth-watering.

At the very bottom, there it is, the Amaretto :D But here, too, it is more restrained and totally pleasant.

The fragrance is strong, but without being overpowering. It is more grown-up than Lost Cherry and can therefore also be worn on occasions or at work. It is simply "uplifted".

The longevity of this fragrance is typically ATH etxrem good.

The new bottle with the Swarovski stones is a real eye-catcher and the sprayer... you simply have to test it. Few things come close.

I like it very much and have often been on the verge of buying the fragrance... but I'm just not the type for cherry fragrances at the moment. So as an alternative, I went for the Baraonda from Nasomatto.

But if you like cherry scents, you should definitely try this great fragrance! :)

Definitely Cherry
My first ATH fragrance and my first impression. RC opens with blast of cough drop/ car frag cherry and wood. A bit overkill in my opinion. Cherry goes into boozy syrup as oud/ vanilla becomes more prominent. Dry down is much more enjoyable with the base and cherry taking more of a backseat (still very much there throughout life of frag). Although it takes on a more cherry jam-like spread as the boozy starts to mellow out. There is a slight dusty quality I believe due to the rose. The fragrance became a well blended pleasant skin scent after 5.5 hours of projecting every time I moved my arm. I do not see this one in my top list of frags but it is quite different for me. It just my personal taste this could be too much cherry (I know I know it’s called raw cherry, what does one expect). I will have to wear it more to reach final conclusion. However beware this one a little goes a long way and one could choke some folks out. A+++ to Maxaroma for quick ship.

Amazing sour cherry fragrance, with added cherry liqueur giving a sexy sweetness to the already potent cherry note. Beautiful.
