The title I have chosen may be confusing and therefore needs an explanation: If you browse a lot in cookery books, you will inevitably come across the recipe for the "Falsche Hase", a beef meatloaf that was probably prepared in copper hare pans in the past. In this sense, a beef meatloaf in hare's clothing. And this association always pops into my head when I wear Encre Noir: with its mysterious, spicy woody scent, it reminds me of oriental fragrances, but without being as intense. I love the oud scents offered in Arabic countries very much, but here in Germany you can rarely wear them because of the intensity, as they are perceived as too intrusive. Encre Noir is therefore a good alternative for me: Not as intense as oriental fragrances and never a "real" oriental fragrance, but just as mysterious and with this sweet-spicy woody note and this certain "heaviness" simply a very special experience. Certainly not a fragrance for everyone and also more suitable for the generation 40+, at least I can not imagine a twenty-year-old with this fragrance ... but tastes are known to be different. For me personally, this fragrance is a perfect companion both in winter and summer.
