The longer the better ...
... is what this plant is called in the vernacular
Honeysuckle, the name and main fragrance contributor of this scent, is a
native climbing vine that winds its way up fences
and walls, clinging and climbing
In Bach flower therapy, the plant is also used
(Honeysuckle No. 16) for people who cannot let go of the past,
who lack interest in the present, and have a nostalgic outlook on life.
I find this association very fitting
Chevrefeuille is a nostalgic fragrance, smelling of carefree childhood;
summer afternoons in the woods and by the river,
a wonderful fresh scent; honeysuckle and jasmine very fresh
and green through the citrus accords
the fragrance is lush without being overwhelming and feels very refreshing
and invigorating to me
the longevity is, as with all old YR fragrances, fantastic and the sillage
not too dominant, perfect for warm spring and summer days.
Have I mentioned in any of my comments already
that I have a bone to pick with good old Uncle Yves?
In this case, I also find it extremely unfortunate that this fragrance is no longer available
the newer version smells very similar but is still not comparable.

An Evening in April
I bought this fragrance solely because of its name
I was young and romantic, and French was THE language of love
I annoyed my teacher to translate the name of the perfume for me and
enrolled in French as my second living foreign language.
All just because of this fragrance ....
I don't know if I'm becoming nostalgic as I get older
or if my nose is too dull for modern scents, but I love these
old classic fragrances
somehow it reminds me of Chanel No 19
a chypre scent that is also very floral
At first, bergamot (I love it) and aldehydes waft around my nose
a little later, the white flowers unfold
my beloved freesias and jasmine, and the soapy rose is also white
powdery and soft, oak moss, patchouli, and sandalwood envelop me
preventing the scent from becoming sweet or heavy
wonderful fragrance, a masterpiece, as is often the case with Yves Rocher
such a shame that this scent is no longer available
the sillage is extraordinary, and the fragrance lasts easily 10 hours on the skin
the bottle is typically retro, classically angular, I like it
however, I have transferred it into a spray for application
I’m not fond of splash bottles
I see En avril un soir as unisex, it can easily
be worn by a man as well.

The Emperor's New Clothes
I belong to the first-hour lovers of Aromatic Elixir
for years I received a desperate shrug from all the
perfume saleswomen when I was looking for a new scent
and outed myself as an AE lover.
"Oh dear - AE customers are difficult, they hardly like anything else!"
was the unanimous reaction :-)
Well, you can probably tell from my collection that not only
AE finds grace before my nose and now to AE WHITE
Soooooo beautiful bottle - good design doesn't need much
and white suits it well.
I wait, captivated, with flared nostrils for the first encounter with White
and get a nose full of clean, soapy lychees served
*mh pondering* Lychees? veerrry strange ....
but just don't give up
after 10 minutes the Sichuan pepper comes, which I like very much
and then I wait
I wait
and wait
and wait
ok, finally there they are, the rose and the orange blossom
but how very soapy with little depth, not unpleasant
but very superficial, mainstream
so if it didn't say Aromatic Elixir on it.....
Musk and patchouli slowly round off the overall picture
a nice scent - but not exciting
except for the bottle, no resemblance to the original
Aromatic Elixir - what a pity
I feel naked with this scent
it definitely won't go into my treasure chest

Memory of a Spring Day
A beautiful clean feminine fragrance
very soft and flattering from the start
I really like the comparison to a fresh bath towel
the scent greets me immediately after spraying with wonderful freshness
Bergamot and freesias (my favorite flowers) what a stroke of genius this combination is
Very aesthetically, jasmine and rose unfold after a short time
the citrus fruits remain discreet in the background and only provide
a bright freshness in the lush floral bouquet
The scent always stays clean and fresh even as a powdery
musk gradually makes its presence known, the fragrance never becomes heavy or animalistic
but remains wonderfully soapy and pure
I would love this scent as a shower gel and hair shampoo
for me it has an incredible freshness kick
just right to leave behind the heaviness of everyday life
or to start a new morning feeling fresh and carefree
The sillage is in the middle range
so a good scent for every day, also suitable for work and leisure
and especially for the warm season
I will test it again in winter, but I think
it is too reserved for that and lacks depth and warmth.
But for spring and summer, the perfect companion
for the elegant and natural lady.
I am not so enthusiastic about its longevity
but a fresh floral scent can easily be reapplied multiple times
because it lasts no longer than 2-3 hours on me.

Scents like back in the day
Today I dare to describe an ancient classic
that most here probably won't even know
and if they do, it’s more likely as a scent that back then
Mama or Grandma had on their vanity (makeup table).
I found a few drops in my aunt's legacy
and had to try it immediately.
The scent, although from the 60s, was still intact
and the color was also fine.
However, the bottle does not match the one in the photo.
Chat noir was produced in Vienna by the Odol factories
and was charmingly dubbed "Huren-Parfum" in the typical biting
Viennese tone.
A decent woman didn’t smell like that back then - lol
Chat noir is a very heavy sweet scent
although labeled as Eau de Cologne
I miss the typical freshness that comes with it.
It is heavily musky with indefinable flowers
the sillage is very intrusive and the longevity
is nearly endless.
There’s a nice anecdote about Chat noir involving a
verbally aggressive journalist who was doused with Chat noir by an angry lady
and supposedly "smelled" of it for weeks afterwards.
