Ambery freshness
I remember walking after this scent in the 00's. Too bad, I was a teenager and even if it was very affordable, I would not get it. Well, I recently fulfilled the wish and got an opened bottle. This sweet and cozy cedar scent is more ambery sweet leaning than I remember it, but definitely remains quite faithful to my memory. Makes a great bedtime scent and after shower scent. Could be labelled and marketed as some luxury cologne.

Cedar and Vanilla
A fresh and pleasant fragrance. Light woods and powdery vanilla. Very enjoyable scent that lingers and settles down into a sweet, almost musky-like skin scent. Good any time of day. Will brighten up your day as it is very agreeable and inoffensive.

Zwitter, the Blue Cedar
Before I tried Monsieur Yves Blue Cedar, I didn't really know what cedar smelled like *cough*. Nevertheless, I was brave and ordered this cologne blindly along with the matching shower gel. No mistake!

The scent is immediately present with a strong, spicy wood note that, for me, is like a strange mix of sweet and bitter, simultaneously cool and warm, feminine and masculine. It confuses me and fascinates me in a way. As a test, I initially sprayed it in the (empty) bathtub in the evening, so to speak as a room spray, just to roughly gauge the note (I was already wearing another fragrance, hence this somewhat awkward approach).

Mon Dieu! My heart raced when I re-entered the bathroom after a few minutes. The scent was grand, gentle and aggressive at the same time. Simply... special. I didn't expect that; I was thinking more of a bitter-fresh herbal cologne, but certainly not such a peculiar unisex scent mélange.

So this is what cedar smells like, aha. This olfactory impression even occupied my dreams; I dreamt of Uncle Yves Cèdre Bleu, and of trying to categorize it scent-wise, which I couldn't manage.

Today, it had to go on the skin, logically. Essentially the same result as with the scent-in-bathtub, but the Blue Cedar develops even more beautifully now. After the intoxicating spice wood invasion, the scent quickly becomes calmer, softer, and rounder, yes: distinctly sweeter and more feminine. It merges beautifully with the skin, giving it a warm, powdery, sensual, skin-like scent touch without mustiness or rot.

Unfortunately, the longevity is predictably low, but with the affordable giant bottle, one can confidently reapply more often. Monsieur Rocher: Chapeau!

It had the makings of a classic
In the estate of our sadly deceased aunt, I found a new, still packaged bottle of Cedre Bleu in the back corner. No idea how old the bottle is. I boldly opened the packaging and tried the scent. Back then, I didn't buy it because it was marketed as a men's fragrance. I was pleasantly surprised. A pleasantly fresh scent with a hint of powder unfolded on my skin. The fragrance was also not spoiled. I have no idea what Blue Cedar is supposed to smell like, but this scent has a soul in my eyes. More suitable for women than for men, as the sweet powdery scent is not to everyone's taste. The longevity is extremely long. The scent was immediately present in its composition and lingered and lingered, then became a bit weaker. It's a shame that it has been replaced by bland, squeaky sweet 0815 fragrances. I would rather buy it again today than tomorrow.

cool and powdery-woody
I love the scent of cedar in general. Well, and I particularly like Blue Cedar! I simply cannot resist the scent of the wood from this majestic tree.

“Cedre Bleu” is a woody and very, very dry fragrance. It smells like the cedar wood shingles on our roof when they are damp or wet from the rain, and you have to like that. Everyone here who loves floral, sweet, and very feminine scents will not find anything appealing in this fragrance. Actually, I had ordered “Cedre Bleu” for my husband, but I also really enjoy smelling it on myself. At first, a very intense cloud of alcohol emerges, which quickly dissipates. Then comes this pure cedar scent. Somehow it reminds me a lot of Lanvin's “Oxygène,” a fragrance that I also really like, just without that aquatic note.

“Cedre Bleu” is made for hot days. The longevity is, since it is an Eau de Cologne, of course not very long, but in my eyes, it is quite acceptable.

One of the most powdery cedar accords I've had in my collection, miserably discontinued. It was a compliment getter, uncommon, captivating.

To me, it smells so soft and flattering, like a cozy blanket. It feels both close and distant at the same time. I feel fresh in a forest :D

As a woman, I wouldn't want to wear it, but on men, it must smell incredibly exciting!
