Fallen "King"
I am someone who prefers to write short statements rather than long comments. Especially with a fragrance that divides the masses, it is not so easy to remain objective. And yet today something moves me to do so, perhaps it is the recently received 10-year edition. And only because the scent differs once again from my previous batches. Not minimally or hardly, but fundamentally. I smelled my first Aventus in the summer of 2014. It was the best batch for many, 13ZZ01. What fascinated me back then was the opening with the pineapple. The only reason, really, why I kept buying Aventus. Because I don’t find the subsequent development particularly good. And just to briefly touch on the batch differences, I had about 15-20 different bottles and the biggest differences, in my opinion, are only in the opening. The further development is almost always identical or so marginal that you hardly notice it. Now back to the 10-year edition. The opening is something completely different, as I definitely smell a strong honeydew melon, which surprised me a lot. Pineapple and bergamot are only subtly perceptible in the background. The honeydew melon is also well noticeable until the base. After that, it slowly fades away. After about an hour, the typical "green" phase of Aventus comes through, underscored by a delicate leather touch. Not leather like, for example, Tom Ford uses, meaning that dense kind. It is more transparent, subtle, light, and simply floats along. The last hour of the fragrance somehow becomes monotonously woody with a faint sweetness in the background.
On me, the fragrance lasts about 6-7 hours and is only perceptible close to the skin. A bit lukewarm, this water.

Conclusion: The "King" has fallen, and that was quite some time ago. The quality differences of the individual batches do not make it any better. One smells like this and the other like that. One lasts 4 hours and the other 12 hours.
It remains a sovereign fragrance, but not much more than that now. For Aventus fans, I recommend the edition, simply because it smells quite different than usual. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to everyone else, especially at that price. There are so many beautiful freshies, so it doesn’t have to be an Aventus for nearly 300€ when buying in a local store.

Schizophrenia par excellence or something like that
That's exactly how I feel when I want to wear the scent or not or not or yes. Tom is quite unique, as they say these days. This fresh, slightly minty start awakens you like a little wake-up call. Good morning, here I am, can we start right now? Somehow, the scent development is the opposite of what I usually know. It starts at 101% and then gradually becomes cozier. The dry woods give it a certain sovereignty, an aura of a man who knows what he is and how he comes across. Self-assured, determined, and consistent. And despite its serious appearance, it becomes cozier as the evening approaches and looks forward to the family he has at home. And that's how Tom fades out, it somehow becomes creamy and a caresser.
The question I always ask myself is when I will wear Tom. Because for the occasions when you take him along, many other wonderful scents also fit. As much as I like him, I use him very little. Tom yes, Tom no, Tom yes, Tom no. The game keeps coming back. Nevertheless, it is a scent that must not be missing from my collection. I just wish for better performance.

With Peter on Cloud 7
I have rarely found a perfume name as inappropriate as this one. Black Phantom reflects a lot for me and stimulates some fantasies about what such a scent might smell like if you only know the name. Kilian already has a name in their repertoire for this fragrance in my eyes, and that is Straight To Heaven. Because that is exactly where I was transported after the first 3 sprays. I felt wrapped in a cloud of the finest, soft cappuccino. Freshly prepared, with a little cocoa powder on top of the foam. A small splash of the finest rum, covered by a dash of vanilla-caramel syrup. I perceive every tiniest nuance, and every tiniest nuance must be exactly as it appears in this fragrance. The rum note is so subtle and soft; if I were to drink it, I would estimate it to be at least 25 years old. I feel a well-being that no fragrance has ever given me before. So here it is, my personal scent for special evenings during the cooler season.
Black Phantom was a blind purchase. However, the price was so outrageously "affordable" that I couldn't say no. And fortunately, I did.

The sillage is quite good, noticeable to others but not intrusive. And you still have it on yourself after a good 8 hours.

Nothing half-hearted, nothing complete, just pure chemistry.
Since this is my first comment, I hope my less experienced nose won't be held against me too much.
I can't say much about the bottle since I only purchased a sample here in the souk.
I think everyone knows how the scent is touted by our dear friend Jeremy. I was somewhat curious, as I was looking for something suitable for everyday work. So, it was time to try it out. And well, what can I say? My nose knows this scent, or does it not? Hmmmm. Yes, I know it. Independence looks different, anyway. Assigning it a clear scent DNA? No chance.
My wife said, "Yeah, it's okay for a scent. The world doesn't need it." And I can only agree with that. For me, it feels like they took 50% Sauvage EDT, 30% La Nuit de l'Homme EDT, and 20% Aqua di Gio, shook it a few times vigorously, bottled it, and that was it.
The first 10-15 minutes are slightly fresh, maybe a bit citrusy. Then the chemical punch kicks in so much that I regretted applying the scent. If I had to name a fragrance as a synonym for artificial and synthetic, it would definitely be this one. The scent progression can actually only be divided into 2 phases. The first 10-15 minutes are citrusy, and then comes the grand finale. Quite meager for a fragrance that is so praised by its creators. I had hoped that the scent would somehow develop, but no, unfortunately not. Perhaps it was more the hope that the scent would change as quickly as possible.
I can only give one credit to the scent, and that is its longevity. 10-12 hours of performance are definitely achievable for me. The sillage is perfect for me. Not too strong that you can smell me from miles away, but also not just detectable up close.
Well, but the most important thing about fragrances is the scent, and I can only give it a maximum of 2 out of 10.
