Aventus in better
I've never been a big fan of Aventus. I gave this one a 6. The extensive pineapple has always bothered me and I also generally find the fragrance unspectacular to slightly annoying in my nose.

About the Absolu:

Top notes less fresh, but more fruity & berry, drydown less smoky, but warmer and woody-spicy than the original. Significantly less pineapple overall, almost imperceptible. Great! Nevertheless, the Aventus DNA dominates from start to finish. There is little evidence of Sauvage Elixir apart from a few slight overlaps.

Shelf life and sillage are surprisingly good, definitely better than current batches of Papa.

Bottle is beautiful and high quality. Does not come into its own in pictures, you have to hold it in your hand and feel it. The new metal cap alone is a dream.

All in all, I'm thrilled, especially because my expectations were low and have been exceeded by miles. I'm actually considering getting a bottle despite the rather steep price.

Well done, Creed.

If life gives you lemons, give them back and ask for Allure Edition Blanche
Citrusy fragrances are not necessarily my favorite. Sure, there are exceptions, Tom Ford for example has a few good citrons in the port(ofino)folio, but mostly perfumes of this direction are too synthetic, too chemical, too toilet stone for me. A few years ago I was out on the town with the mission to get myself a new bottle of Allure Homme Sport. A buddy was also there and said "here, smell the Edition Blanche, it's really awesome lemony, much better, better get that one". That was the first time I got the white edition under the olfactory bulb, and my bias kept me from giving it a real chance. Sniffed it once briefly and without really letting what I smelled affect me rolled my eyes directly and dismissed it as a WC duck.

Big mistake, as I had to find out a few months later when said buddy wore just this perfume and I told him how good he smells and wanted to know what perfume that is. The answer and his stupid I-have-you-yes-said-grin has neatly annoyed.

Anyway, second time around it was pure love. Probably THE best lemony on the market and one of the best summer fragrances ever. Mainly because here the synthetic note criticized at the beginning is completely missing. The whole thing smells thoroughly natural, balanced and at the same time intense without being intrusive. Also, a sticky sweetness, which lies heavy in the nose after an hour at the latest and somehow becomes unpleasant, is not found here. Instead, the Blanche has a cool, metallic note, which I personally like a lot. A bit of tartness and woodiness thanks to leather, cedar and consort round off perfectly.

The course is relatively linear, but that does not bother me much in this case. Fragrances of this kind should refresh, at 32 degrees and sweaty underpants I need no complexity monsters.

Sillage and projection are very good, durability for a freshener also okay.

Purchase recommendation, because sour makes fun

King Underrated
Percival is probably THE most underrated and unjustly little noticed fragrance ever. Sure, 8.0 on average is not bad, but does that do justice to the quality of Percival? Not even close. The last rating here was a month ago, which clearly shows that one of the most brilliant PdM fragrances does not get the attention it deserves.

Percival is one of the absolute best fresh scents on the market, in my opinion classes better than zb (the new formulation) of Aventus. He is fresh, he is slightly aquatic and thus very pleasant to the nose, but can score at the same time with a spicy, peppery note. Well, several run-of-the-mill fragrances like Dior Sauvage can do that too, but not only does Percival do it better, it combines the whole thing with a hint of a green note as icing on the cake. A combination that I have not smelled so yet and which gives a great, but quite linear perfume then yet the depth and complexity of a niche perfume and it clearly stands out from the crowd.

Percival is quite great fragrance cinema and a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Only durability and sillage could be minimally better, but that's complaining at a very high level. The perfume is great, the bottle is great, the price is unfortunately also great, but what the heck, Percival you just have to have

A masterpiece
Is Herod the best fragrance ever? Probably not.

Does Herod deserve its high placement (or even first place) in the Parfumo ranking? I, at least, wouldn't mind it.

Herod is an absolute masterpiece. I have already tested many fragrances, but no other,
which so playfully performs the balancing act between complex niche perfume and pleasant crowd pleaser. Herod is profound, extraordinary and stands out, but at the same time you will have to look very hard to find someone who does not love or at least like this fragrance.

Cinnamon, pepperwood, takak, incense, vanilla, a bit of vetiver. Many fragrances use these notes, but in my opinion, no other manages to project this DNA so powerfully and at the same time so balanced and unobtrusive.

Very good sillage, very good durability, compliment magnet and PdM typical a beautiful and bulky bottle you have to have on the shelf.
