Ethereal and Comforting
Copal de Terre introduces itself as a sparkling, earthy incense and lingers on skin as a dry, woody vanilla, leaving an overall impression of cozy, sweet resin. It feels like getting a hug from an aunt or cousin whose sweater was stored with incense sticks. And, by some miracle, it's sheer enough that I can get away with wearing a woody vanilla incense in hot weather; it almost feels cool, in a way, like finding a church in the desert that has air conditioning. Copal de Terre makes me feel at peace, a surprising source of spiritual comfort when I'm having a rough day.
Sweet and Eerie
Haunted violets growing outside an abandoned carnival, plus the soft peach perfume of a ghost that’s unaware of her new state of being. Incense, coconut, and vanilla lend a gothic gourmand quality, further grounding the already-earthy fruits and flowers that make up the rest of the scent. Carnival of Souls feels like a playground near a church cemetery, like a dust-covered makeup vanity or a doll that moves by itself. It’s playfully uncanny, pretty and eerie, creepy and cute.
Hot, Heady Floral
Plush, creamy white florals on a bed of silky, smooth white chocolate. Despite the depth and richness of these notes, I think Nightgown thrives in hot weather; it borders on too much, but I can't imagine wearing it in winter. Something about hot skin feels appropriate for a floral gourmand of this magnitude.
Evokes images of opening a window on a summer evening, hoping for a breeze and letting in a bouquet of night-blooming white flowers growing on a bush or in a bed outside.

A Platonic Ideal of Rose
...At least, for me.
Little Flower is tart and bright, but the rose at its heart is balanced and true. Neither too powdery-spicy nor too green-stemmy, the rose note here feels equal parts velvety and fresh. This is easily the prettiest rose scent I've smelled in a long time. Little Flower feels like sipping a chilled blooming tea with a squeeze of lemon, a warm-day refreshment to be savored and enjoyed.

The Inherent Melancholy of Spring
Nightingale starts sharp and tart, with a distinctly vintage-flavored lemon and plum blossom. Powdery white musk and velvety rose and violet dominate this scent, with a little undercurrent of oud-y funk and patchouli. It is a stunningly executed, elegant portrait of spring: pockets of quiet melancholy between baby birds chirping and pink flowers blooming. Introspective and contemplative, but also bright and effervescent. Maybe not “me,” per se, but I’m enjoying getting to know this bird.
