Light, airy jasmine rice
It's clear that rice is a challenge many perfumers want to capture, and this is the closest I've smelled yet. It's still not photorealistic, at least not as much as I want, but it is lovely. Papery musk, subtle grain nuttiness and the idea of steam. This is a light skin scent that would be easy to wear, if also nothing stand out.

Bread + Roses!
The way I love this scent! It's bread in your bag, carrying home a fresh baguette from the bakery, and also it's roses, a dozen wrapped in twine, shoved right next to it. Your nose vacillates back and forth between the two and it's not clear what to pick up on. One sniff on skin gives you just a cursory idea of the fun here, it needs to be sat with.

Citrus clean and petrichor dirt
This is a fragrance of opposites, or at least composed of elements that seem made for disharmony. However, as I'm learning with pearfat, that's part of the joy of it. I get candied lemon peel, the garnish of a cocktail maybe, and not fresh rain but dry concrete getting splashed in the summer. This is enjoying a NY summer from your sidewalk café seat.

Old rum barrels covered in dust
This is a sweet scent overall, like rum soaking in an old oak barrel. Another reviewer mentioned clay, and there's something about that, like a dry, dusty element, maybe from the ambrette? Hard to say. Even though I love these notes typically, this composition doesn't work on my skin, turns just slightly off.

Fireside Nap
It took time to grow on me, initially I wanted more burning wood and smoke notes. (But I guess that would be in the fireplace, not by it.) This is cuddling up with a blanket and a purring cat when it's chilly outside, the chestnut bringing in the warmth of being home. The clove is doing the work of the embers here, this isn't a bonfire pyre, this is a fireplace just gently smoldering.
