THE Gentleman
Actually, it was just a "bycatch" when I included this one while purchasing several samples from Givenchy. I already knew "Gentleman Givenchy," which was too powdery for me. So, I didn't have high expectations. I was all the more surprised to discover the best gentleman fragrance I have encountered so far. But let's take it step by step:

It opens with an intense peppery-floral sillage that is also slightly fruity. There is a gourmand touch that serves as a counterpoint. A pleasant vibe, excitingly balanced. I like it!
The sillage then becomes subtle after about half an hour.

I really love the brothers from Zadig & Voltaire, "This is him!" and "Just rock!". This fragrance here could be considered the father of the two, in my opinion. It has a bit of both but is still different, a touch more refined. Those who like the brothers will also enjoy this one. It is dominated by pepper, like "This is him!", which makes it a "casual fragrance." Good for the office, seminars, meetings, etc., in appropriate attire. However, it is also softer than "This is him!" due to the creamy-gourmand counterpoint, which gives it a more elegant feel without becoming too creamy, like "The One" by D&G or "Valentino Uomo."

Suitable for men aged between 25 and 60 years. Wearable year-round for special occasions. However, if it’s over 25 degrees, I would rather reach for something "fresh."

After an hour, tonka then triumphs over the pepper, making it wonderfully elegant-gourmand.

After about 3 hours, there is then absolute tonka dominance. However, noticeable performance declines can be observed now. The sillage quickly diminishes. It remains close to the skin but well present.

I like it! As a gentleman fragrance for upscale occasions, it’s an absolute gem! A masterpiece of black pepper and tonka (essentially).

For Tobacco Lovers
The name certainly piques curiosity! But what lies behind it?:

Just by sniffing the bottle, you immediately recognize what "Hot Rodder" is all about: pipe tobacco!

This is also the case on the skin. Imagine holding your nose in a bag of fresh pipe tobacco. That is the scent of "Hot Rodder." Nothing more, nothing less. At first, it has a slightly sweet note. So, flavored tobacco. This sweetness only fades after 9 hours. After that, a dry, woody tobacco remains. In my opinion, it could have been like that from the very beginning.

Overall, it lasts longer than 10 hours on me.

A scent (some would rather call it an "odor") for the winter season and not really for teenagers.

It is certainly well-suited for layering with other fragrances. Many men's scents could, in my opinion, benefit from an extra pinch of tobacco....
I can imagine wearing it as it is less. I can't think of an occasion where I would simply want to smell like tobacco.

I like it. I enjoy pipe tobacco. It reminds me of many a warm summer evening, stuffing the pipe and watching the sunset. Or the scent of fresh tobacco leaves hung up to dry under the roof of my parents' house....

Those who love tobacco will enjoy "Hot Rodder." Those who do not like tobacco should avoid it.

"Hot Rodder" is certainly not for everyone, but if someone is looking for a mass-pleaser, they are in the wrong kitchen anyway.

I will keep a small amount of it in my collection.

Aigner's Private Number - Interesting, but No Thanks
Here too, as is typical with Aigner fragrances, I was unsure for a long time whether I liked it or not.

A look at the DNA doesn't promise anything special at first. Fresh, herbal notes. Lavender and amber..... A bit of a Sauvage vibe perhaps?

It starts off floral-fruity-fresh (also slightly citrusy).

After about 1.5 hours, a pleasant scent with subtle sillage has developed. The sillage is okay. Therefore, it doesn't need to be applied heavily.

It is fresh. A fragrance more suited for everyday wear during the summer months. Not intrusive, it doesn't attract attention, but rather rewards those who come closer. A typical Aigner, indeed.
It is nothing special or outstanding. You won't stand out with it. It is rather confidently understated.

It has something. A note that makes it interesting in its herbal-fresh and floral-fruity way. Still, I wouldn't want to wear it. It feels too synthetic to me, and despite its clearly masculine note, it leans too much towards a clean scent with a slight hint of women's fragrance.

Incubus = Patchouli ?
This name almost compels every man to test this fragrance. Because who wouldn't want to possess the deadly seductive aura of an Incubus!?

But does the scent from Teufelsküche live up to this high expectation?

The opening is typical for a Teufelsküche Patchouli. It smells like herbal schnapps. Not quite as strong as "Morass" or "Shadow," but the vibe is there.
It also leaves no mark on the skin, unlike "Morass." A plus point.

After an hour, the herbal schnapps is gone, and I smell ...... Patchouli! Slightly "urinous" undertone. Too strong then. But where is the myrrh?

Even after the second hour ...... Patchouli! No myrrh!

I like Patchouli, but I imagine the vibe of an Incubus to be somehow more exciting.

The Sneaky, Fickle Aigner Scent
This fragrance took two attempts to win me over, but ultimately it convinced me completely...

It opens as a subtle masculine-spicy-leathery scent, which I find quite pleasant. The typical "Aigner vibe," recognizable from "Statement" and "No 1," is clearly present. The sillage is good. Unfortunately, the fruity top note comes off a bit rancid. One simply has to wait and endure......
The opening is already quite interesting and holds potential.

As it develops, it becomes overall more gourmand, which is also promised by the DNA. Cardamom, nutmeg, and pepper are absolutely dominant in this scent above the leathery-spicy-woody "Aigner base" starting from the second hour.

But beware! The sneaky little tease lures you in with simply delicious gourmand notes. However, if you approach it with interest, it defends itself with pepper spray! :-)

It is one of those fragrances that is better enjoyed from a bit of a distance. That was also the reason it took me two tries to appreciate it. In close proximity, after 2 hours, the pure, dusty, and tingling pepper dominates. While that is interesting, it’s not how one wants to smell. At least, not me.
However, if you keep a slight distance and observe the "aura" of this fragrance just a few centimeters above the skin, you will be enveloped by a delicious gourmand vibe, refined by the lightly accentuating and rather woody pepper. And this note ultimately convinced me. A gourmand scent that does not smell artificial, overly sweet, or otherwise "cheap," but rather woody and seriously masculine. I like it!

After about 5 hours, it becomes close to the skin for me, but remains present.

With its subtle and serious presence, it is a good office or everyday scent for those over 30. The gourmand character is more suited for the winter months. Thus, it serves as a good counterpart to "Statement," which, with its freshness, is more at home in the summer months.

It is nothing special or outstanding, but still a beautiful, pleasant, and versatile woody-peppery gourmand scent.
