Timeless summer
32 ° Celsius, Italian Riviera, somewhere between Imperia and the French border. Sun, summer, beach, seafood and an ice-cold Pinot Grigio - dry, cold.
We've already been on the road for two weeks, with two more weeks to go.
Once across Italy and via the Côte d'Azur slowly back to Germany in the fall. But that's still a long way off! Because time is relative. And despite empty beaches in the late season in the middle of September and changing accommodation in different small towns, time passes slowly. Fortunately! Because summer doesn't want to leave for a long time yet. Neither do I.
We are traveling light. For me, that means we can take a fragrance with us. Which one? I didn't have to think long. A 30 ml bottle is easily enough for the four weeks - even if it evaporates quickly and needs to be freshened up a few times a day. It doesn't matter.
No other fragrance exudes these old-school summer vibes in the truest sense of the word. Or as Luca Vasta likes to put it:
Acqua di giò - Gelsomino
quei profumi inebriano l'estate
Time stands still and we're back in the golden 90s. Everyone's relaxed, everyone's nice, everything's cool!
The fragrance fits in perfectly with the times and not only demonstrates good taste, but also brings a certain melancholy with it: Because the carefree 90s are over. Well then, let's make the best of it!
Floral, fruity citrus sets the tone. Everything with moderation. It is not a flower child, not a fruit salad, but a balance between the different notes, rounded off and softly bedded in a very gentle musk cushion. Green notes complement the composition only slightly from the side and give the overall character the idea of an edge, while the authentic sea breeze provides a pleasant cooling effect.
Thanks to the perfumers, thanks to Armani!

Slick everyday hero
If someone (who I like) asked me which perfume they should buy - first of all - I would recommend the
Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette.
Why?
It fits as well as ever. It's fruity, fresh, maybe even a little spicy. In spring, the freshness comes out, towards fall the cinnamon comes to the fore, according to my subjective impression. The fragrance, it has to be said, is a really harmonious, well-rounded and very beautiful composition that covers almost everything.
To be honest, I can't think of an occasion when you couldn't wear it.
Only when the thermometer goes above 25 degrees do I personally think it no longer fits. It's a bit too, well, what? Full?
Although it really is a rather fleeting friend, even if the durability is, in my opinion, also underestimated.
So, the buddy who doesn't have a perfume yet and now wants one that fits everywhere, who isn't really interested in perfume at all, will store the bottle in the bathroom, doesn't even know what a bottle is, and doesn't worry about other fragrances until this one is empty - and even then will probably buy the same one again, I recommend the Bottled. And perhaps that's where the - let's call it a "problem" comes in.
It really is a bit soft. No corners, no edges. The only thing you can criticize about him is that he is so extremely pleasing that he doesn't seem to have any personality at all. He's the safe number, the perpetual walker. Smooth as an eel, he adapts to every opportunity without pushing himself forward. He's the conformist, metrosexual softie of the early 200s (ok, more like the very late 90s). Everybodys darling.
For me personally, one of my regular companions at work. Because in the office you don't need to be a nuisance, it's enough to smell good up close. And it's perfectly fine not to leave an oud mist in the elevator in the morning that will choke off anyone who doesn't want to take the stairs until the evening.
I like it considerate, I like it polite, nice, unobtrusive, yet a bit classy and simply rock solid.
That's why I really like Bottled :)

The irrational
As a true millennial, I felt like I had been transported back to my childhood when I had just freed the packaging of this fragrance from its plastic wrap, full of anticipation. This passion for collecting, this high-quality looking cardboard box with the logos that are so familiar and well-known, the slightly guilty conscience that mixes with the anticipation, as it is clear that I have paid a little too much for what I am unpacking - that's when it clicked! Are perfumes the Pokemon cards of yesteryear for us millennials?
That was more or less the thought that went through my head as I set about examining the simple but stylish bottle. (Does anyone else feel the same? :D)
Anyway! Here we are, 33 years old and still not tired of it. The
Allure Homme Édition Blanche Eau de Parfum is a flanker to the
Allure Eau de Parfum and is therefore suitable for collectors alone. Chanel always works!
Back in time: As I like to use what I buy, I had to test it first. And what can I say? All the reviews, regardless of the platform, are right! This thing doesn't hold! After less than an hour, the scent of the sample was gone. No fragrance residue close to the skin for more intimate moments, no remaining fragrance molecules that have matured further due to the sprayed-on fragrance - it's simply gone.
Why should you buy something like this? Especially as it's not necessarily the cheapest fragrance.
Because it's so good! So fresh, creamy, sweet and delicious! It's not overpowering, but shines with understatement. Perfect for spring through to warm July days. I have often read the comparison to a lemon tart and yes, it smells like a freshly baked lemon tart with meringue. Simply too good to justify rationally. After a while, the freshness fades into the background and the soft creaminess becomes a little more dominant.
I kept the sample in my cupboard for a long time, taking it out from time to time and applying it. I gave it so many chances, but it never wanted to stay for long.
The search for dupes or alternatives was unfortunately unsuccessful. So what to do?
Then it was the end of April - my birthday was coming up and I wanted to give myself a present. I wanted to wear a special fragrance on my day - after all, boozy birthdays don't come around every year. So I took heart and bought the piece via Chanel's online store. And now I'm standing there, a little proud despite the irrational purchase, spraying it on. And what can I say? It was still worth it. I even think the fragrance from the original bottle lasts a little longer and smells "richer" than the one in the tester.
The main thing is: I like it and I wear it! Even if it's not always rationally justifiable - it wasn't a bad purchase.
I like it very much :)

Classic all-rounder
The fragrance I bought especially for my first day at my new job. I'd had a sample of Allure lying around for a while. Also from the
Allure Homme Édition Blanche Eau de Parfum, which I found even better in the fragrance at the first test, but which unfortunately and with great PITY only lasts 20 minutes on me, also very close to the body.
The
Allure Homme Eau de Toilette is a "grown-up" fragrance for me. It doesn't fit in with being a teenager and is also a little too thick for the 20s - or rather, it's not. It impresses with its understatement, seems mature, mature and as if it is a matter of course for the wearer to put on this fragrance in the morning - a signature fragrance.
It has a mature freshness, which is probably represented in the fragrance pyramid by the pepper and acorn moss, but also has certain, albeit rounded, corners - an exclusive mass appeal, so to speak. But ultimately, according to my interpretation of the development, Allure is the perfume that represents the transition from the "tougher" men's fragrances of the 1980s and early 1990s to the mass-appeal boring fragrances of the eyebrow-raising 2000s. Malicious tongues claim that it smells "old" or "like an old man". I can't agree with that - depending on what is considered "old" :) I'm probably a bit young for my early 30s, but I still really like it! The fragrance offers me a more serious alternative to
Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette with a little more authority, which I also like to wear in the office.
For me personally, it's the perfect companion for important appointments or for occasions where I want a little confidence boost.
But I don't want to indulge too much and praise it, I enjoy it too much that it lives in an undeserved shadowy existence behind the
Allure Homme Sport Eau Extrême and the
Allure Homme Sport Eau de Toilette and is therefore worn comparatively rarely.
Important for my rating: I have rated the sillage at 10. This does not mean that you can still smell the fragrance in the cabin when I used the elevator 2 hours ago, but that it perfectly suits the occasion. In my use case "office": close to the body, not intrusive, pleasant.

Shower gel deodorant fragrance
I have to be honest, I was expecting more. But I also have to be honest: it was a blind buy.
I'm a huge fan of
Boss Bottled Eau de Toilette and have read a lot of good things about the
Boss Bottled Parfum here in the forum. An offer then made me weak and it went into my closet via the shopping cart, from where I also let it out and wear it from time to time.
But unfortunately, the fragrance is not as complex as it is often portrayed here. For me, it is solid, perceptible as a created, synthetic fragrance composition, but by no means new in any way. For me, the fragrance was a surprise in the sense that it seemed familiar - but not a surprise. A classic men's deodorant or shower gel fragrance.
Don't get the wrong idea: It's not bad! I only put it on again this morning - I smelled it until late afternoon and, well, it smelled "good". As if I'd just had a fresh shower.
That's not bad. It's just not what I was expecting.
So: try it first, see if it fits and then buy it if necessary.
And don't blindly trust the reviews! Maybe not even this one without restrictions - tastes are different :)
