A vanilla dream that you do not expect so
Just opening, this might be one of the most interesting, complex and beautiful vanillas I have ever tasted. This is not gourmet vanilla; There is warmth and sweetness due to the properties of vanilla, yes, and the vanilla is very perceptible and characteristic, but here it is distinctly balsamic, resinous and smoky. What makes it so special is the person who surrounds it, and for me the three main representatives are cumin, incense and patchouli.

On the writing pad, I find the incense to be the most distinct; It's a smoky, witchy vanilla that feels like you've wandered into the coziest occult store (where incense and candles burn at the same time), but on the skin it opens with the most beautiful cumin I've ever smelled in a fragrance. My problem with cumin as a fragrance is that it often feels superfluous; like a perfumer added it to add *a hook*, or overdosed it specifically for the challenge. The cumin here is perfectly harmonized with coriander and both feel necessities. Cumin provides a distinct, non-sweet kitchen spice, and coriander and cooling anise provide the spice. A subtle but infinite patchouli creeps almost like a secret path into a kind of vanilla abyss, the bottom of which you will never reach.

And yet, despite all these subtleties, there is something very *classically vanilla* about it. At some point you reach the bottom, the drydown, where you are left with a classic creamy, not sweet, familiar vanilla that is simple and comforting.
