It grows with you
At 19, I once stood in the turquoise and was in love. Kenzo had relaunched Amour and I had only a narrow FSJ salary. For years I wanted him for Christmas and so he became my first signature.

Soft, beautiful, warm vanilla and something pleasantly floral. A fragrance that carries you, caresses and yet is timeless. Even today I still reach for my squeaky pink bottle and have rediscovered him many times, because he is close to the body but still perceptible. It wears very well without being overpowering. Due to the very subtle head, it barely makes an impact at first, in the dry down it develops more depth due to the combo of florals. However, heliotrope and cherry blossom also give it something very fragile. The base is very present thanks to the woods. The vanilla in particular is different. Less sweet-sugary and more enveloping, it seems absolutely not intrusive. Due to its long development time, however, it can come to overdoses.

A really good fragrance, which rightly has its fans over this long time - including me. It is a pity that he often comes too short in his perception. On the other hand, I still get compliments and people often look quite perplexed when I tell them the fragrance.

When it happens
"A heartbeat just for me and those who are with me". We are heroes.

It's 1994, little Lami is with Dad in Stuttgart's largest department store. He has to go through the perfume department and meineriner stands in front of the flacons. My dad was a cop - yes one of the variety "crime scene" and as it is in the crime novel, he likes to arrest people. So my dad leaves me in heaven and I stand there, eight, half able to read, in front of the display of Guerlain (Guär-lah-ihn) with orders to stay there and not go. The saleswoman catches sight of me, sits me down behind the counter and hands me a book by Bräuni-Bär, For those who don't know: Bräuni was the mascot of a traditional department store in Stuttgart, which was supposed to bind childish consumers. Gladly students stuck in the plush prison to improve the BAföG.
So I sat there and there it was, that smell. soft, beautiful and extremely powdery. The saleswoman sprayed something on a tempo for me. "It's called Samsara, you'll wear this scent when you grow up."

So, 26 years later. Whenever I go to the department store today, I think of my dad and I always get sore. The other day, when the man was testing L'Homme Ideal, and Vetivier, and L'Homme, I stood around and reached for Samsara - more to smell something different. And yes, I was in love. Warm, soft and so cozy and very special.
All the green fruitiness of the citrus notes of the top slowly gives way to this great balanced heart of iris root, jasmine, rose, violet and garden carnation - I barely smell narcissus. Slowly the base melts into the heart and the impossibly well balanced notes of iris, amber and musk come into play, making the scent soft and powdery. Tonka and vanilla give it warmth and sandalwood rounds things off beautifully.

Yes, Samsara is a gem. Rarely do I find myself so eager for the heart notes of a fragrance. I admit, I often have a hard time with classics - especially those from the early 90s. But this one is wonderfully timeless and yet I got the vibes of my childhood.

Now I'm grown up, own enough perfume, and Dad is no more. He never had any understanding for my passion and yet I have one thing from him: thanks to him it is there, this comforting pain when I walk through Stuttgart's big B.. And still I prefer to turn into the perfumery and not into the sweets tunnel(imagine: Massive amounts of sweets in a bordellesque lit passageway). Still I wonder how shop detectives could be shaken off and rich upper-class bling wives could unobtrusively switch shopping bags. And still this place is one for me: flaunted consumerism and childhood. Thanks old man.

and that's when my inner chick got into top form...
I admit, I have always made around the Miss Diors a slight bow - too fancy and also somehow too tussig - I thought. Until I was in the spring - I admit also in a latent fit of "mourning buying frenzy" in my favorite perfumery.
I erschnupperte him and felt very up and safe.

The citrusy head with blood orange and mandarin starts harmoniously and citrusy - without toilet stone vibes. At the same time, the head is more balanced than other fragrances. In the dry down, jasmine then follows rather dominantly and the combo of lily of the valley and May rose very discreetly. The fragrance develops a nice dynamic, which then fades through the patchouli. The fragrance is good, light, a crowd pleaser, but still has something special.

The old Miss Dior is not recognizable, but a modern, clear fragrance with something special. Yes, he is a sweetheart and I have fallen in love yet something.

Pour femme, fresh shower
I like fresh scents in the summer every now and then. The EdP Legere has already won me over, because it combines citrus-fresh-showered vibes with the DNA of the original, without it immediately again like one of the drölfzig Flanker acts.

The start is citrusy, though exactly I can't detect any fruit. The citrusy is less toilet stone and more the smell of standing in an orangery. Spritzig and clear in the start then develops the typical Lacoste Pour Femme DNA by the really pleasant, bright jasmine. The jasmine in this range is not the "in your face" jasmine that appears in Mugler, for example, but a bright, quiet, friendly one. The base is Himalayan cedar, sandalwood and musk. It's all quite classic and all well-measured. Where the original has freesia, heliotrope and also rose and incense, the Legere is lighter, friendlier but also quieter. The original I like very much, but find this flanker very well done and pleasant.

Especially for the summer I like to reach here. I feel freshly showered and it reminds me of vacation. I would also wish here that he gets more attention, because he is a really well done, beautiful (and also affordable) summer fragrance.

The hip granddaughter of cologne
Oh, Jo. You had me with Amalfi, it was one of the highlights of my studies. Sitting by the sea, the smell of cedar lemons and many memories of student parties on the roof terrace and the wistful memory of cool times.

Blissed out, I apply the roll-on from Zara: Citrusy, cool and then it comes, that familiar note of cologne. Since Corona I disinfect my hands with 4711 and yes, the similarity is unmistakable.
Bergamot, mandarin and orange blossom form a nicely citrusy, fresh trio that comes across more modern than my grandma's handbag classic.
The scent is simple yet multi-faceted, so it makes a light, fresh note for summer. A nice summer fragrance, which unfortunately does not last long and does not have the bombige silage. However, you can really great nachsprühen him (or rollern in the 10ml pack) and the price-performance ratio is super
