Lush Ectoplasm - Halloween Limited Edition from 2018

Back in 2018 I was working for Lush Finland in Helsinki. We got a small batch of Ectoplasm Solid Perfume in our store and it was sold out before Halloween because Finnish people love light citrus scents. I managed to purchase only one jar myself so I was waiting for a new batch... And I'm still waiting. For some unknown reason Lush never re-released this fragrance even though many other limited editions have been brought back. I still have high hopes to get the liquid perfume version some day...

Now I still have about a half left of my 2018 solid fragrance and I'm using it sparingly because I want to enjoy it as long as possible, it's one of my favourite Lush fragrances of all time.

Before working at Lush I had this very traditional view that citrus fragrances are only summer scents. It was a real surprise for me that one of the marketing strategies of Lush is to sell citrus products during autumn and winter and I was very confused about it. Our store manager told me that it's because Lush products contain citrus essential oils that are moodlifters, and it's essential to brighten up one's mind with them especially during the darkest period of the year. I decided to test that, and I have loved wearing citrus fragrances during the dark time ever since, it's really a fantastic mind trick! Everybody should try it occasionally!

There's controversy among the mediums if real ectoplasm glows in the dark or not. But the smell of Lush Ectoplasm is definitely glowing so brightly that it pushes away all darkness whenever I wear it, as I wrote in my review. It's an uplifting zesty uncomplicated citrus fragrance, pure vitamin C for the nose, so juicy, sharp and fresh.

The name of this fragrance might lead your thoughts into something horror-like but it's not, it smells very innocent and happy. But, on the other hand, what is ectoplasm? It's bright spiritual energy, and if you think about it that way, the name is actually very fitting, Lush Ectoplasm feels definitely like pure energy to me! With this Ectoplasm the Halloween will indeed be happy.
