True white
After a few bottlings, I was lucky enough to buy an almost full bottle here at a fair price. I have to say, I now love this fragrance! The aldehydes give it a fresh, almost spicy kick at the start. Perhaps also due to the centifolia, it has something of a detergent, which is not really my taste. With the appearance of peony and violet in the heart note, the fragrance becomes blossom-like soft and stays that way for a long time. For me, the fragrance then lives up to its name - Blanche - and ends softly in the drydown with musk and sandalwood. I have tested many of these so-called clean fragrances. None of them have come close to pleasing me as an overall composition.

Fairy scent
I experimented with No.19 and its flankers for a long time and wanted to love them so much. I failed with the EdP and EdT. The first spray, I could bathe in this galbanum/iris mix, but, oh dear, then the jasmine and lily of the valley come in and I get a headache, I feel stale.
Not so with Poudré. This fragrance is much softer and gentler, iris and jasmine are wonderfully modernized by musk and integrated into a floral composition that creates fairy-like vibes. Definitely a spring fragrance for me. It is too strong for summer.

Unfortunately not
I have been trying for many years to like this scent when spring arrives and the temperatures rise to 20 degrees. After this year's attempt - today - I give up.
It starts off wonderfully citrusy - and I'm thrilled every time because I love citrusy scents. But then...of all the wonderful ingredients such as pink pepper, water hyacinth, musk, iris, patchouli etc., nothing comes through for me. I only get a whiff of jasmine. The fragrance does not develop any further on my skin. It is and remains showery, soapy and above all sweet, far from Chanel DNA, meaningless and quickly annoying. H/S weak. Flacon and juice beautiful. I'll stick with Paris-Deauville in summer - Chanel-like elegance with a Mediterranean lightness.

Discovered again...
The Coco EdP was my signature for a good 20 years. Then came a very long break due to the many "conversions" of this classic. My nose wasn't tired of it, could still clearly perceive it, but no longer liked this fragrance. It had changed too much. Years have passed and countless unsuccessful attempts have been made to get the fragrance back on me.
Now I'm trying again, this time with the EdT and lo and behold, I like it again. The fragrance starts off floral/citrusy before this typical Coco note, which seems oriental to my nose, takes over.... until the next morning. A fantastic composition - heavy, warming and sooo sexy! H/S are top, although the EdT is pleasantly "lighter" than its intense EdP sister, which is too dense for me. A rediscovered love!

So fine!
The summer is now almost over in my search for a suitable freshy. None of the scents that came to my nose were able to inspire me and were either far too sweet/fruity, shower gel-like, synthetic, intrusive, biting or too tart and masculine. As I'm not a big fan of bergamot either - in my opinion, it is used too excessively in fragrances - it was more down to chance that I also sprayed Bergamotta di Calabria on a card at the AdP stand. I moved on...and returned to the stand 20 minutes later to spray the fragrance on the back of my hand.
From then on, I was really fascinated by how finely composed and interwoven a freshy can be. A very natural lemon in the opening, which is neither scratchy nor prickly, is caressed by a soft, blurred bergamot in the top note. It quickly becomes a touch woodier, but the citrus remains in control of the fragrance because it is joined by ginger. It goes on like this for a while until the fragrance fades out very elegantly with musk and vetiver - far too quickly. The longevity is, as has often been lamented here, subterranean. I like to reapply, so I'm allowed to keep a bottle. It is quite expensive, but compared to the very expensive and beautiful Chanel Les Exclusifs Eau de Cologne, which is similar to Bergamotto and also evaporates just as quickly, it is still an affordable alternative.
