A feel-good fragrance
The first time I sprayed Tam Dao, I was instantly smitten. After an extensive test with a sample from the lovely lady at the Diptyque counter, it was clear: this bottle definitely had to come home with me.
If you're interested in the background, you should definitely read the story behind the fragrance on the website - it's beautifully told.
Fascinatingly, the opening has a subtle peanut note for me. It feels extremely woody and dry, and immediately brings to mind a relaxing sauna session. As it develops, that dry sharpness fades and the fragrance transforms into a beautiful, pleasantly creamy sandalwood. Unlike many other sandalwood fragrances, nothing here feels synthetic or overpowering.
The direct comparison is also interesting: I tried the EdP as well, but for me, the EdT is the clear winner. The EdP becomes too austere and overwhelming for my taste, while the EdT presents the whole idea in a much rounder, smoother and simply more wearable way.
The longevity is surprisingly good for an EdT on my skin.
For me, Tam Dao is an ideal everyday companion, which I especially love wearing on cooler autumn days.

Gentle Minimalism for the Skin
I got L’Eau Papier as a sample with my purchase of Tam Dao. What can I say? The fragrance is light, airy and simply an absolute pleasure to wear. It has this beautiful, clean, slightly woody character with a very delicate, subtle sweetness.
The rice note in the opening is executed beautifully. It’s a real shame that it fades fairly quickly. After that, the fragrance develops quite linearly, but feels exceptionally high-quality throughout.
For me, this is a perfect "second skin" fragrance: it never pushes itself to the forefront, but still makes a positive impression on those around you.
The quality is absolutely top-notch, as you’d expect from Diptyque, and the label on the bottle once again fits the theme perfectly, too.
If you’re looking for an unobtrusive, airy everyday companion for warmer days, you really can’t go wrong with this one.

A lucky find with signature potential
It took me several tries to warm up to G-Water. But when I spotted it completely unexpectedly at TK Maxx, there was no holding back: I simply had to take it home right away.
The scent itself is not so easy to pin down: it's woody and slightly smoky at the same time, with a hint of sweetness, and it comes across as extremely elegant throughout. I'm usually no fan of incense in perfumes at all, but here it's woven so cleverly in with the other notes that the result simply smells good. There's no other way to put it.
Unfortunately, its longevity isn't exactly outstanding, as is the case with almost all fragrances from the brand - the "water" in the name is almost a promise. You shouldn't expect a performance monster here, but it gets me through the day just fine. Still, this one has real signature vibes for me, and I often catch myself automatically reaching for this bottle in my everyday life.
For me, it works in pretty much any season and for any occasion, though there are better options for the blazing height of summer.

A blind buy hit with tremendous performance
I bought Triumph of Bacchus completely blind because the notes appealed to me right away. In general, you really shouldn't do that, especially at this price point, but Argos had been on my radar for a while, not least because of the beautiful bottles. But when the fragrance arrived and I sprayed it for the first time, it was immediately clear: THIS is exactly my kind of scent. Probably my best blind buy in a long time.
It opens very fruity, delicious, and clearly of apple and peach. Peach is usually a tricky note for me, as it can quickly become overwhelming, but here the balance is perfect.
As it develops, the fragrance becomes quite creamy on my skin, while the fruit stays pleasantly in the background. I can detect the tobacco ever so slightly, but nowhere near as prominently as some people often claim.
The longevity is truly out of this world. It lasts all day without any trouble, and even the room where you spray it still smells of it days later. Luckily, I got the version with the dark red liquid. I was also able to test the newer batch with the lighter liquid in a store, and it is noticeably weaker. A real shame.
All in all, an absolutely brilliant fragrance, perfect for colder days or cooler summer evenings.
EDIT
Since I've been asked several times now: I bought the fragrance online from Breuninger. They apparently still have the darker version. In the store itself (at least in Düsseldorf), however, they only sell the lighter version.

Pure luxury!
Dior Homme Intense is one of the best, if not THE best men's fragrance you can find in the designer sector. It's not easy to describe how it actually smells: it's very powdery, sweet, dense, and simply pleasant.
Sure, the iris often brings to mind associations with lipstick, but that absolutely does not mean you smell like makeup. The fragrance conveys an extremely well-groomed, luxurious, and high-quality feeling.
For me, the performance is impressive: the longevity is really good (easily lasts all day), the sillage is superb, and it lingers on clothing for several days.
Even though the fragrance has been around for a few years, this classic, elegant DNA is absolutely timeless and works in any situation. For me, it definitely belongs in every well-curated collection. A true masterpiece that still delivers.
