Gourmand or gourmet?
So far I have given the so-called "sweet gourmet fragrances" a wide berth.
Although I like to eat sweets, but preferably with dark chocolate.
I find things like cotton candy, marshmallows, vanillin, penetrating caramel syrup and sugary-synthetic fruit essences really creepy
Smell like that? No way! Br />
The term gourmand, which means "overeater" or wolverine, fits to this, while gourmet means the gourmet.
Now a fragrance has reached me in a hiking package that I would otherwise never have gotten to know, already the brand completely unknown, and then the name sweet-gourmand!
But everything develops completely unexpectedly:
The scent takes me on a visit to the test kitchen of an excellent patissier. The master is currently creating new dark chocolate pralines and truffles with wonderful fillings.
From the large pot, the warm, liquid chocolate coating made from selected cocoa varieties, perfectly conched, and waiting to be used as an immersion bath.
In the small pots are the different fillings, whose fine spices combine harmoniously with the chocolate already in the air.
My nose is sticking to my arm, I could easily re-enact the orgasm scene from "Harry and Sally" :-)
Also the durability is great:
After hours, when the spices and the sweetness of the dried fruit have evaporated, the darkest amber I have ever smelled remains on my skin for a long, long time.
A real gourmet scent, thank you very much, dear Gandix!

Surprises
I got a remainder of this fragrance as an addition in a souk package
The brand was not known to me before, so I looked at the fragrance pyramid here and was very sceptical at first:
The composition sounds to me like the recipe for one of those weird smoothies where you add to the fruit and vegetable mixture a green hideousness like raw spinach or seaweed. Here just poisonous tomato green.

Well then, home office makes brave, I can only be a pain in the ass
Wow, a great, fruity and sour freshness blows towards me, estimated wind force 6 ;)
First pleasant surprise, because up to now I have always associated freshness with citrus, and fruity with sweet.
I am completely blown away how well it all fits together!
The delicious smell reminds me of the "extra sour sticks" I used to love to snack on as a child, only the whole thing smells much more natural here.
As if I had picked currants in the garden with green fingers after having used up the tomatoes.
Also the apple, which for me in many fragrances only smells synthetically like shampoo, here it could be one of the first clear apples.
Vetiver is of the soft green kind that I like and the incense puts a glow over the whole thing

To sum up: I'm shocked, the scent is on my wish list.

Sincere regret
Yesterday evening, after the greatest heat had subsided a little, I wanted to try out a fragrance without informing myself about the ingredients beforehand.
The choice fell on a manufacturer sample from Watch Collection.

A careful spray on the arm, and the corners of my mouth spontaneously move downwards, because I immediately get a torrent of overripe fruit
After about half an hour this "fruit overture" is fortunately finished.
The curtain opens, appearance of the diva: The tuberose!

Me and tuberose are 99.9% impossible
Most of the time she is too indolish (disgusting), too loud, too garish, uncomfortable for me.
Here, however, there is nothing unpleasant, the tuberose stands self-confidently in the foreground, but there is nothing glaring and screaming about it.
The colours strong, but a little muted, the tones rather lower octave, no brass but cello.

My nose keeps wandering to my arm to find out what is causing this effect.
I know I know it, but I just can't figure it out
At some point I surrender and take a look inside the fragrance pyramid:
All right, ylang-ylang, of course !

I never thought the two of them would be so good together
There is no competition, ylang-ylang forms a beautiful frame, like the setting for a piece of jewellery. Also the jasmine fits in very unobtrusively, and fortunately I don't smell neroli.

The fragrance is without question very beautiful, but I will not buy it.
Do you know that: Sometimes you meet someone you find beautiful and respected, but still it doesn't turn into love, for whatever reason.

PS: The next morning I still smell a whiff of wonderful vanilla on my arm, like a tempting farewell greeting.
I stand by my decision, albeit with sincere regret!

Cool Lady
Rarely have I found the name of a fragrance so fitting:
I feel transported to the shady corner of a beautifully landscaped castle garden.
Roses are reflected in a cool fountain.
I see her as if through glass while I smell her scent:
Not the heavy, lush, animalistic "vamp rose", but an elegant lady, cool, clear, distanced, reserved.
Wrapped in a silky soft, transparent chypre veil.
Beautiful, but I'm not getting warm with her
Maybe a fragrance for the days when I want to appear cool and distant ?
