good fragrance for a current Creed :)
Since I had already finished Creed some time ago, my interest in the release was very low. Aventus with Sauvage Elixir, it couldn't get much worse I thought to myself.
But now I had the opportunity to test the new Absolu via a sample swap and I'm sharing my impressions with you here :)

I smelled the classic Aventus every year from 2014-2023 except for 2016 and also compared the Absolu for the review directly with the old batches.
In my perception, Creed has clearly changed for the worse since 2019, I was very disappointed when I had my first Aventus in my hands and it smelled nothing like the bottling that inspired me at the time. The depth was missing and the H/S was also much worse, the fragrance gave the impression of a diluted water compared to the bottling.

But now to the Absolu, as already written I sprayed the fragrance with very low expectations on a strip and smelled it for the first time.
Very berry Aventus DNA and a nice grapefruit, the first impression was very good I thought, but it can still change ;D

The Absolu is also convincing as it progresses, the grapefruit and the berries recede somewhat, the fragrance becomes smokier and woodier, only the base is a little flat, but not quite as tragic as with the newer Aventus'.

On the skin, the fragrance differs somewhat in my perception, the opening is less concise, the middle part and the base come through more strongly right from the start. Otherwise very similar.

I think the fragrance falls somewhere between the old batches and the newer ones.

The H/S is good, although not strong, a little more wouldn't hurt I think.

But the most important thing: zero comma zero shower gel and no licorice - fortunately.
I honestly don't understand how you can smell that here.

I find the bottle rather uncreative, at least in the photos it looks very boring, I haven't had it in my hands yet.

As always, Creed's price-performance ratio is exaggerated, but that much was already clear before release ;)

Would I buy the fragrance? Rather no, an old Aventus or a similar DNA from another brand are clearly the better alternatives for me here.
