Noble Almond Meringue
At the beginning of my perfume journey, I was able to fall in love with many scents, and they were worth leaving a review. Over time, that faded into the background. Occasionally, I would make a statement or a rating - if I found a scent particularly delightful or horrifically bad. Somehow, my enthusiasm for individual fragrances waned.
Now, I want to write a review again because I have been wearing Cargo de Nuit for several months now, and it deserves to be shared. Cargo de Nuit simply never feels like too much to me, and I currently want to part with it the least. It is almondy (slightly bitter-almond), woody, clean, sweet, but not too sweet. It is present, but not overly intrusive - suitable as a signature scent everywhere, in every season. It is noble and unique, although I do not know Luna Rossa Black and cannot make a comparison here. Many clean scents come across to me as artificial, sometimes piercing. That is not the case here. In Cargo de Nuit, the individual fragrance components are perfectly intertwined, possessing character, which makes the scent never seem inappropriate, even for older wearers, despite its sweetness and youthful charm. I do not perceive any scent evolution, but that does not detract from the value of the fragrance. Cargo de Nuit has the potential to become a classic while still radiating modernity. One can only hope that it is not reformulated or even discontinued.

Delicious Vanilla Fruit Cream
Normally, fruity scents have a hard time with me. There are only a few exceptions. With Glaze Ecstasy, it wasn't the raspberry or the apricot jam that caught my attention at first, but the vanilla cream and the caramel. Somehow, the overall composition appealed to me, so I started a sharing. I didn't have high expectations, though. Yesterday, the new Simone Andreoli from Italy arrived at my place. Initially sprayed only on a paper strip, the first pleasant surprise: No piercing fruity notes in the opening, the vanilla is noticeable from the start. The fruits are wonderfully harmonized, with me perceiving more of the apricot jam than the raspberry. I don't detect caramel at all - if someone had told me that beforehand, I probably wouldn't have started the sharing. But - it doesn't bother me at all. The vanilla transforms the fruits into a wonderfully creamy scent that has a gourmand quality. The fruit acidity is, for me, only very subtly present, if at all. Imagine warm apricot dumplings with vanilla sauce for winter and apricot fruit tarts nestled in fluffy vanilla cream for summer. This scent lies somewhere in between. That makes it wearable for me in any season.

In the meantime, Glaze Ecstasy has also been tested on the wrist and found to be good as well. My initial concerns that it might come off a bit too artificial did not materialize. Glaze Ecstasy becomes a bit more gourmand in the dry down, but actually, there is hardly any scent progression. But that doesn't matter. I find the composition of the individual components very successful, so I'm already considering buying a bottle because not much is left from the sharing.
Sillage and longevity are average for me; however, I'm a poor benchmark for that. I could imagine that Glaze Ecstasy has above-average longevity for many perfume lovers. The bottle is of good quality, although there are aesthetically more appealing bottles for me.

So, if a sweet scent doesn't deter you, you should definitely give this one a try. I have rarely been so pleased with my own sharing!

My Heaven
When I decided over a year ago - after decades of abstaining from fragrances - that I wanted to wear a perfume again, I set out to find "my" vanilla perfume. And no, it wasn't Spiritueuse Double Vanille at that time, but rather Vanille West Indies, which was to be my first perfume. Until then, I had never known a niche fragrance and was amazed by the world of perfumes that had been closed off to me until then. I simply wanted to smell like vanilla. After several months of research online and testing vanilla samples, I chose VWI. I still love it today, just like Tihota by Indult. Now, VWI has not been available for purchase for over a year, and Tihota was also unavailable for a long time. So, I recently continued to explore vanilla perfumes with a now different perspective on the fragrance world. Over a year of Parfumo did not pass me by unnoticed. After many scents that were allowed to enter my collection, it became clear that it was time for another vanilla fragrance that truly smells like vanilla and is not just accompanied by it. Since VWI is still not available, I got to know Spiritueuse Double Vanille.

During the first testing, I was a bit disappointed. Not about the scent, but about the longevity and sillage. I had worn Confetto for several weeks, a wonderful vanilla-heavy beast (yes, even at work...), and my nose was obviously not so receptive to the somewhat quieter fragrances. Meanwhile, I see it differently. SDV is a wonderful not too heavy scent that still possesses a presence. The fragrance is more complex than the VWI, but it also carries vanilla as an exclamation mark. It touches my soul. Another Parfumo recently referred to fragrances as "places of longing," and this applies to me with SDV. I hardly perceive rum - if at all - minimally at the opening, even though it is not listed there. SDV is lovely, but not too sweet. In a certain way, it reminds me of Vanilla 28 by Kayali, which I find too "kitsch" and too synthetic. SDV manages to perfectly combine Vanilla 28 with VWI without becoming too sugary, allowing the vanilla to become heavenly for me in a non-sweet form. Today, I dared for the first time to declare a fragrance as my signature scent. This does not mean that I wear it all the time. Nor does it mean that it is the only vanilla fragrance for me and will be, but it comes very close to my ideal, just like VWI.

And: If you wear Confetto in the office, you can wear SDV everywhere and in any season!

Beautiful Gourmand
Dear perfume lovers, anyone who enjoys gourmand fragrances should definitely try this one. Even though it has been around for a while, it has lost none of its appeal and modernity. I do not find it in any way cloying or outdated.

Yes, anise and almond play a significant role, but for me, once again, it is the vanilla that captivates me and takes center stage. As a result, Confetto has worked its way up to being among my favorite vanilla fragrances and stands on par with them, perhaps even one step higher... By the way, it seems that outsiders perceive it this way too, as I have already been approached several times with comments like "Aah, are you wearing your vanilla scent again?" When I then say, "no, it's anise," I receive puzzled looks. Apparently, my environment cannot immediately distinguish it from, for example, Vanilla West Indies, which I have worn very frequently.

In fact, I have never received so many compliments in such a short time; usually, my fragrances are at least ignored by my surroundings in terms of feedback. It really seems that Confetto has a very good sillage without being perceived as unpleasantly intrusive. At least, that is how it has been reflected back to me.

I do not perceive a scent progression; the warm sweetness envelops me from start to finish, and the end takes its time to arrive.

The scent is simply a dream. You have to like sweetness, but if you do, it is just stunning. And not just in winter. I am wearing it right now!

There are better vanilla scents
As an absolute vanilla fan, I cannot understand all the positive reviews at all. Perhaps because the overall composition is not bad in itself, but in terms of vanilla?
First of all, the jasmine note bothers me. The fragrance can't help it, I can't stand a dominant jasmine scent. It completely envelops the vanilla in the top note for me, so that a hint of sweetness can be sensed, but not really a vanilla. Even in the heart note, I don't detect any vanilla. Just some generic sweetness that goes well together and is not unpleasant for me despite the jasmine. If the fragrance were a bit more long-lasting, it could at least score points in that regard. But both longevity and sillage are very poor for me. Thus, it is neither cuddly nor gourmand. It doesn't bother, but that's about it.
Sorry to all Kayali Vanilla fans. For me, there are far better vanilla scents.
