no gong strike
It's not to my taste, even though it's good. The sample was given to me by the saleswoman. I wouldn't have chosen it myself, a) because of the vetiver, which I know I don't like, and b) because of the bottle, which I don't find appealing, so I would never buy it.
The scent is quite good, hence the 7 points, but it somehow feels too watery to me, watery rose, and then with pepper or cardamom, it reminds me exactly of cardamom, and somehow woody. But not dry, warm, full wood and not ethereal forest wood, rather like dry twigs - maybe with a bit of leaf green attached. It also smells somewhat "green," but for me, it's indefinable what kind of green; it could also be leaves and stems of flowers in a flower shop, which might fit the cistus that is supposed to be included, although I don't know what cistus smells like.
As I said, it is indeed well made and quite elegant. The vetiver here is also not so dusty dry and hitting hard like it often is, so it can be tolerated well even if you are not a vetiver fan. That works. I have to wash off other vetiver scents after thirty minutes because I can't stand them on my arm, but that's not the case with this one. For those who are only so-so with vetiver, this scent is definitely worth a test.
The sillage is very moderate - if you don't spray too much. However, I wouldn't wear it to a meal because I find it too dominant in its scent direction for that - it distracts.
Somehow this scent doesn't connect with me or with the surroundings. Even after half an hour, it still only seems to be localized at the spot where I sprayed it, and it feels foreign and not warm at all. That's also one of the reasons why it doesn't go beyond 7 points for me. It doesn't create an aura and remains distant. Overall, I find it a bit boring. It doesn't disturb and doesn't overwhelm its surroundings, like the first scent from Agent Provocateur did - which, by the way, it reminds me of - and is therefore more wearable than Agent Provocateur was. But for that very reason, it is also less interesting. You either loved or hated Agent Provocateur; it was interesting, it was a gong strike, this one is not.

Friendly and Gentle
This scent is friendly and gentle. The invigorating, citrusy fruitiness at the beginning naturally fades over time, but it gives it a slightly buoyant quality that lifts the mood without being overly summery and hyper.
In the base, it then has a pleasantly lightly vanilla-tinged softness, with a very slight floral note, but really just a hint, which makes it a pleasant, discreet, and warm companion that neither overwhelms oneself nor the surroundings. Therefore, I find it quite wearable in the office or elsewhere at work.
Sure, this is not for a grand entrance. And perhaps this scent is also unspectacular, but it does not deserve those bad ratings of less than 6 points, because it is very finely composed and well crafted. It doesn’t have to appeal to everyone’s taste - those who want the scent trail to be noticed before entering the room will not be happy with this one, that’s clear - but I think the craftsmanship should be acknowledged.

The Floral Disturbs - like with many flankers, I prefer the original version
The price-performance ratio is really good - the scent is incredibly cheap, which I really appreciate. It reminds me of Hypnotic Poison, BUT here mixed with something floral-sour - I wouldn’t call it fruity - which I don’t like. I prefer the original version from Zara, which is still available, Hypnotic Vanilla.
And although both this one and the version without flowers remind me of Hypnotic Poison, this one unfortunately doesn’t last as long as the original. After half an hour, at the latest after an hour, this scent sadly becomes "flatter" and somewhat synthetic. It definitely doesn’t have the airy projection around it like the original does.
By the way, the first version of Zara, Hypnotic Vanilla - without Bloom - reminds me of Kenzo's Amour, also the original version when it was released.
So for those who want to reminisce nostalgically, I recommend not this one with the flowers but the other Hypnotic Vanilla from Zara.

Very sweet, without being biteable
Very sweet, without being biteable. You can sense the spices, but they seem to be hidden or drizzled under syrup or resin. I can't detect cinnamon. It reminds me of sweet pipe tobacco; it sometimes has that strangely damp quality, even though you expect something dry and smoky. And that's how I feel about The Calling, as if the wood had become damp and a box of cigars was standing next to it. It's well made and doesn't overwhelm you, nor does it smell synthetic, but I still don't get the exorbitant price from it in any way. Rather, I feel like I've smelled something similar before. And this sweet rum-tobacco theme is too clichéd for me, too much "the way it's done." Wood, tobacco, and rum are associated by many with a respectable gentleman's club, plus a bit of sweet caramel to make it pleasantly appealing, and there you have the mainstreamer pretending to be niche, with a few spices tossed in. You could just as well continue wearing Le Male, Egoist, or One Million. Hmm, no. The best thing about the fragrance, in my opinion, is the bottle.

unfortunately more like summer bath water
I didn't like it at all. Aquatic and artificial. Not even synthetic, not really, because - fortunately - this synthetic musk component that cleanses the nose is not present. But still. This is how I imagine bath water where many bathers have swum on a summer day and their sunscreen has been washed off. And this film that now floats on the bath water, that's roughly how it smells. No, I don't find it pleasant. It gets 6 points because at least it doesn't bite synthetically in the nose. And with that, it is at least better crafted than some other fragrances that I don't like.
