dowager rose
Chewy, musky black rose that is decidedly sugar-free. There’s also something that rings of anise or hard liquorice to me. Not like Redvines liquorice, but the hardtack Swedish stuff that punishes you for eating it. I know the goal for this scent was a raw, thorny rose but I just couldn’t shake the dank, mulchy soil notes. I also felt it was a bit too “mature” for my taste – I distinctly recall smelling a similar rose on my bisnonna.

Longevity: at least 6h; I couldn’t take any more and had to bubble bath it off

Mental Snapshot: Rain falls heavily, drenching the procession as they forge through your well-topiaried garden. However, you remain dry as old Egbert’s ashes. On your left: Leonie, the delicious estate attorney, clutching your arm. On your right: Waldemar, your winsome manservant, holding your umbrella. A shame your husband accidentally died… on purpose.

Tl;dr: must be worn with a mink and cigarette holder.

Prickly creamy rose
Opens up as a spicy almost pungent pink rose. It settles into a creamy rose that has the dustiness of vetiver and a lot of comforting creaminess. I find this to be elegant, but also really easy-going and since the spice from the pepper tones down a lot on clothing, the fragrance becomes creamy like lotion and soft. Also, I think I know where carnivora comes from… there is an animalic finish on the skin many hours later. Haven’t seen many mention this, but it turns dirty on skin, not clothes.

Nicely put together, nothing out of the ordinary imo.

Shyness can be so attractive..
A beautiful, very feminine, slightly peppery but unfortunately very soft rose scent. The fragrance is very classic and very elegant with a bit of edge from pink pepper and citron.

Vetiver is usually a big no-go for me. Vetiver has ruined so many perfumes for me, but miracles happen, because here vetiver is very soft and beautifully integrated, fitting like a glove to this delicate elegant rose.

The centifolia. It is so beautifully delicate. Almost transparent, it shimmers in the dawn. It is very bright, almost see-through, and has large dewdrops on its petals. In the background, vetiver grows, and with the gentle wind, it occasionally receives a green, soothing breeze from it. At the base, patchouli grows, slightly green and mild. The patchouli is mild and only slightly earthy.

In short, a very elegant rose scent that has a hint of aquatic quality. The fragrance is relatively unsweet and lightly dry with a bit of spice. The longevity is quite good, but it is a very close-to-skin and almost shy rose, yet perhaps that is what makes it so attractive and beautiful.

Well-composed, spicy-fresh rose scent
Oh, I’ll say it right away: The opening is amazing. I’m not a rose person, but this rugged rose, interpreted in various ways, herbaceous-green, dry, and then this striking pink pepper, a brilliant combination. The contrast between romantic and wild is really interestingly staged.

15-20 minutes in, unfortunately, the pepper fades away fairly quickly, but that’s okay, a beautiful, rugged vetiver takes its place. Alongside the dry rose from the start, other subtle, matte flowers emerge, a hint of jasmine and maybe even iris, beautifully shifting with the herbaceous vetiver and a tiny remnant of pepper. Overall, it’s now a bit less edgy, no longer as boldly contrasting as in the top note.

In the dry down, there’s a yellowish, slightly musty-dried cistus rose, but also a continuing greenish-herbaceous rose from the heart, a violet-green, rather fresh patchouli, natural, slightly sweet.

Overall, for me, it’s a truly top-notch rose scent, exciting facets, great contrasts, good transitions, nothing artificial. Beautifully composed and structured, only the pepper could have lasted a bit longer. For me, it’s still fairly unisex wearable due to the spiciness and green notes.

no gong strike
It's not to my taste, even though it's good. The sample was given to me by the saleswoman. I wouldn't have chosen it myself, a) because of the vetiver, which I know I don't like, and b) because of the bottle, which I don't find appealing, so I would never buy it.
The scent is quite good, hence the 7 points, but it somehow feels too watery to me, watery rose, and then with pepper or cardamom, it reminds me exactly of cardamom, and somehow woody. But not dry, warm, full wood and not ethereal forest wood, rather like dry twigs - maybe with a bit of leaf green attached. It also smells somewhat "green," but for me, it's indefinable what kind of green; it could also be leaves and stems of flowers in a flower shop, which might fit the cistus that is supposed to be included, although I don't know what cistus smells like.
As I said, it is indeed well made and quite elegant. The vetiver here is also not so dusty dry and hitting hard like it often is, so it can be tolerated well even if you are not a vetiver fan. That works. I have to wash off other vetiver scents after thirty minutes because I can't stand them on my arm, but that's not the case with this one. For those who are only so-so with vetiver, this scent is definitely worth a test.
The sillage is very moderate - if you don't spray too much. However, I wouldn't wear it to a meal because I find it too dominant in its scent direction for that - it distracts.
Somehow this scent doesn't connect with me or with the surroundings. Even after half an hour, it still only seems to be localized at the spot where I sprayed it, and it feels foreign and not warm at all. That's also one of the reasons why it doesn't go beyond 7 points for me. It doesn't create an aura and remains distant. Overall, I find it a bit boring. It doesn't disturb and doesn't overwhelm its surroundings, like the first scent from Agent Provocateur did - which, by the way, it reminds me of - and is therefore more wearable than Agent Provocateur was. But for that very reason, it is also less interesting. You either loved or hated Agent Provocateur; it was interesting, it was a gong strike, this one is not.

Smells like the inside of a Catholic Church. Not bad by any means but very incense-y

Basic rose and vetiver. A bit medicinal on initial spray. To me this is unisex, almost a toe into masc. its just your average rose. Weak projection.

Started strong with the pink pepper & spicy vetiver kick. Develops into gentle rose bushes after the rain.

Full-bodied, fruity rose on a vetiver-like base (earthy-clove-green). Elegant-mysterious, rather dark protagonist. Classic-modern.

A rose with many thorns. Spicy + in a rugged vetiver bed. Bright, green + herbal. More like a wild rose with lots of greenery + small flowers.

The powdery bright rose greatly benefits from the deep green, juicy earthy qualities of vetiver. A good one among rose fragrances.

Beautiful, lovely & lightly sweet rose scent, saved from total kitsch by vetiver & cistus. Pleasant, but uninspired.
