Monsieur Lutens, I believe it is love
After I already own two other fragrances from Serge Lutens, I have now treated myself to the Chergui "blind". The description and the comments just wouldn't let go of me, I just HAVE to have it.
And what an excellent blind purchase !!!
My spouse is from Morocco and I have spent wonderful times there.
One of my favourite memories is a trip to the desert. There we lay on carpets in a Berber tent, drank Moroccan tea and enjoyed life.

When I apply Chergui, that memory comes back. I am back in the tent and enjoy the moment - completely relaxed and resting in myself.
Somehow Mr. Lutens actually captured Morocco - my husband was sniffing all the time and noticed that it smelled like Guelmin (the last place on the edge of the desert).

There are plenty of scents from Mr. Lutens - so far I have three, if you count the one who is on his way here, there are four. But each of these fragrances has a uniqueness, a special feature that I never knew about. I can't name it concretely either, what makes this "special". But one thing I do know: I will sniff through the repertoire of Monsieur Lutens, because Monsieur hits my nerve like no other.

Delicious, homey, familiar, soothing, cuddly...... love it !
I'm a big fan of the wonderful Downton Abbey series. And that was my association when I first smelled this fragrance.
When the master of the house returns after a long walk and sits down in his wing chair, sipping tea while reading his newspaper, his faithful dog at his feet, the wife looks in and sits down with him, outside it is slowly getting dusky........ then the gentleman should wear this scent.
At least I think it's very appropriate
Since my Riechzinken is still not ready to recognize scents, I can only leave a very amateurish comment.
The moisture from the walk is drawn into the tweed jacket and now dries in the warmth. The ancient wooden shelves, the heavy curtains and the thick carpets radiate a coziness, the fireplace is at the other end of the room and has been extinguished for hours. Tea is steaming out of the cups, ginger biscuits are lying beside it.
Even if the scents don't give you wood, but for me all this is there.
And verments to a feeling of comfort, I wish I was sitting there in the wing chair and would not have to get up so quickly.
The fragrance lasts 6 hours on my skin, certainly longer - but I remember: my olfactory bulb is not very sensitive. Sillage is with me rather close to the body.

you love him or you hate him
I'm tall, wide and loud. I'm hard to miss. I can't have a gentle breeze blowing in my face and screaming, "Here I am." In the statements, the fleurs d'oranger is referred to as the old-woman scent. Well, I'm a woman in her 50s, ergo old. Then it's a good fit. I like it. I like it a lot. So much so that I have just ordered it - although I actually (hahaha....... you know it) have enough fragrances.
The scent is as I am - hated or loved, but hardly anyone remains neutral here.

So hate me or love me, hate my smell or love it - it doesn't matter to me, it makes me feel "at home".

2005 in Dubai
i was enchanted by that smell. I have already bought it several times, in the meantime you can also buy it online in Germany. For me the epitome of the oriental nights, whereby I always have Morocco in my head: Narrow lanes, dusty, also a little bit dirty, it smells from the open shops of fruits, unusual food and spices, there in front the door opens and some friends from the Hammam come in a good mood..... and when a breeze from the direction of the desert comes up.... then I arrived in 1001 nights.
And that is where I feel transported when I wear my Dubai scent. Not glamour, but original foreign scents, all united and captured in a charming bottle.
I will always buy it again :)

he looks familiar...
Yesterday a bottling plant reached me Spellbound. But then, after a few minutes........................................... And where do I know the smell from? About half an hour later the smell developed wonderfully, the tube was moved to the "must stay" category.
But I not only liked the scent exceptionally well, but it also seemed so damn familiar to me.
A comparison with Poison (whom I love!) had to be made
The Spellbound is not a fragrance twin from Poison, but in my opinion so similar that it could be a sister.
Very very nice - thank you dear fog woman for the bottling :)
