The modern man
I've owned Haltane for about a year and a half. Unlike OFG, I find this one younger, more playful and less dry. In short, it's a bit more pleasing.

How does Haltane smell?
Haltane starts relatively fresh (bergamot) and tart due to the lavender note. In the aftermath, one perceives the praline spiced with saffron. But somehow it is much more than that, probably it is the clary sage that makes this fragrance smell so special, or the composition of all(?) Hard to describe...
Imagine the saffron is in the middle as the main character and the base notes: Patchouli, leather and oud stand around the outside and are restrained by a "musk fence". An absolutely brilliant fragrance!

Wearable?
Yes! The typical Parfums de Marly DNA (aka. this slightly oriental) is definitely present. My feeling is that women like this fragrance more than men, probably for the simple reason that it comes across so masculine.

What age?
While I see OFG at Ü35, Haltane can also be worn from Ü25. Prerequisite this man is a beard wearer. Small joke ;-)

Performance?
The durability is very good, holds all day and not necessarily in a skin-tight way. This fragrance projects what brings me to the sillage: 1-1.5m radius for the first few hours.

Conclusion:
Normally, I'm a stickler for the principle of "nothing is as good as the original" ... in this case, it would obviously be Oud for Greatness (OFG). But here I would have to make an exception. Like almost all PdM fragrances, this DNA has been made more pleasing. Speak, something refreshed and sweetened a little with chocolates. And that stands him too!

A clear buy recommendation on my part! But as always, first Proberiechen, then buy.
