A Thoroughbred that’s worth its price tag
My-my-my… This scent is… Wow, wonderful!
A fougère spin on a contemporary Oud accord, a dash of playful sweetness lending from praline, and a very punchy aromatic opening from the sage; all combine beautifully between a rich semi-rubbery leather/saffron blend. Jordi Fernández did AMAZING work with Haltane.
One of my favorite parts of this is during the dry down: When the praline attains this deeply satisfying creamy chocolatey note and it lays beside the wood accord. It’s sensual, a little carnal with the saffron adding a rich spice to the mix, but my lord does it smell absolutely stunning. Masculine, confident, but not overbearing.
All of this beauty dries down to a bed of musky woods after 9-10hrs, touches of sweetness lingering until it’s a skin scent. Noble yet delicate and playful and balanced with precision.

Between this and Layton Exclusif, I can say that these two are the only PdM’s that are worth the price tag for me. If you haven’t smelled this, get a sample/decant, it’s well worth it if you enjoy surreptitiously crafted woody-aromatic scents.
I’ll openly admit, I wear this leisurely when I’m at home. I don’t know why, don’t ask… Sweatpants and a t-shirt on but I’m leaving a trail of wood and sage behind me, enjoying my own sillage. Is this meant to be dressed up? Absolutely, it’s deserving of such treatment, but I enjoy it enough to spray it anytime. Senior. Fernández, has crafted a luxurious and masculine addition that’s worthy of the PdM price tag and the Thoroughbred name. Don’t sleep on this one.

Take me to another world. My all time favorites
This is a masterpiece. But its not a crowd pleaser and more of an acquired taste

It's the definition of Addictive Woodsy & Earthy. Like you're one of those tribesman from the movie Avatar and you walked into one of those fresh untouched forests from another planet. Glowing plants, fresh soil and exotic woods & flowers touch the air and you smell this.

This and Oud for greatness are 10/10 fragrances for sure. Haltane is less strong but still good performance and a lil sweeter with the praline so its easier to wear. Ladies also LOVE this scent especially on a man. So gatekeep ts at ALL COSTS

Sweet Oud Frag
IDK how i feel about this one, honestly. It’s definitely a strong frag. A room filler for sure. Its not my taste, per say BUT i wouldnt not wear it. If that makes sense. Maybe its the oud but Haltane does not go away. Its for the people who love it and love it only. I don’t think its a safe blind buy, at all.
What i can say that it is one of the best sweeter oud frags on the market, right now.

Side Note: I see that some people are comparing this to BR540. I don’t see the similarities at all. Not even a little bit.

The oud curse
When you dive headfirst into perfumery with little or no limits to your budget, especially the highest-end artisanal brands that distill rare, natural, and wild oud oils (e.g. Ensar Oud, Agar Aura, Areej le Dore, Bortnikoff, etc.) you quickly realize that your newfangled scent preferences have transformed so drastically that you've cursed your taste for lesser "oud" (note the quotation marks) fragrances permanently.

Haltane has no real oud in it. Rather, it's a combination of synthetic chemicals that create an "oud" accord, thus the quotation marks. This accord plus saffron and praline notes make Haltane quite sweet -- almost gourmand. It's pleasant and appeals to the masses, but it has none of the aromatic, dynamic qualities of a real oud oil fragrance that I've since become accustomed to.

As far as longevity and sillage go, Haltane is a strong performer. This sticks on clothing for a full day and can be smelled by people within 6-8 feet of you for the first few hours. People who find themselves in closed quarters after a heavy spraying of Haltane will likely find it to be cloying.

If you had asked me 3 years ago if Haltane was an excellent oud fragrance, I would have unhesitatingly told you that it is. But in the last 3 years I've bought, worn, and/or smelled dozens of pure-oud oils, attars, and high % real oud fragrances (some costing as much as $1500 per gram or $5000 per 30mL) and now there is no going back...smelling the soaring heights off REAL oud is transformative. Accordingly, one of my prior favorite fragrances has been reduced to a middling "oud" fragrance. I've been struck with the oud curse and become a fragrance snob in the process. I don't like it, but ignorance truly is bliss.

Copy paste from Initio?
As we know, PDM and Initio are "sister companies" and this gives them the luxury of purchasing high quality ingredients at a cheaper price (due to volume) and they can access top perfumers and use them for both of the houses.

I like very much Layton, Herod, Oajan and Musc Therapy .. the rest are questionable for my nose.
Haltane is the big elephant in the room, called Initio Oud for Greatness put in green clothes for Parfums de Marly and with more ML for the price - which is good.

I do not appreciate at all the saffron dose in it, it will take all my air out and I cannot enjoy it - even if I like the complexity of the notes and what the result is. I have a problem with the Saffron notes in many perfumes, not only with the Initio.

Haltane is nice, has high quality lavender and bergamot when it starts .. then it is following with a sweet praline note and a ton of saffron, after that I can´t sniff it anymore.

Thanks for watching my video :)

Aromatic herbal notes, fresh citrus, spicy saffron, sweet praline, woody cedar and oud, leather, and musk. Haltane has it all.

A sweet-leathery-woody gift that keeps on giving! Playful praline compliments the Oud accord and brings it to life! Absolutely buy worthy.

I don't understand what people feel to compare it to OfG. This doesn't resemble it. Here I work very elegant, discreet, like a oudy fougere

Perfect balance of spices and sweetness. Opens up with saffron, Oud accord and maltol (praline), dries down to leather, patchouli and woods.

If you’ve smelled oud for greatness, you’ve smelled Haltane.

To my nose its a collision between BR540 & Sauvage Elixir. Saffron and musk are prominent in the drydown and cedar wood as well. Its decent.

Nice spicy woody aromatic from saffron oud and lavender. I don't know why sillage rating just 8. Haltane is nearly beast on my skin.

Haltane opens with citruses, saffron and lavender. In the drydown, mainly cedar, green and woody. No oud, maybe just that hint of dark wood.

Haltane is an elegant smelling sweet-woody fragrance without big surprises. It has not a real oud, you can't do anything wrong with it.

This and Oud For Greatness are my favorite niche scents of all time. Proved to me that perfumery is an art. Addictive, Earthy, woody BEASTS
