An Ode to the Sweet Life on the Mediterranean: "Sperone" by Le Couvent

French brand Le Couvent has unveiled "Sperone", a new unisex fragrance that promises an olfactory journey to the beaches of the French Mediterranean island of Corsica.

"A little piece of paradise in the far south of Corsica, Sperone. In the evening, with onshore winds, the scents of the maquis are at their most extreme. The labdanum cistus bushes and the straw flowers give off their scents, which are at once lively, warm and sensual. Then you have no choice but to let the lapping of the waves on the rocks lull you to sleep." - Le Couvent

The fragrance starts with a refreshing, citrusy note of bergamot, which combines with the spicy aroma of thyme. The heart note reveals a blend of the intense sweetness of Immortelle Absolue and the hot, spicy note of pepper. Finally, the base note provides a woody depth dominated by the warm, balsamic note of Labdanum Absolue and the woody, slightly smoky note of cedar.

"Sperone" is part of Le Couvent's "Remarquable" fragrance series, inspired by the voyages of discovery of botanist Louis Feuillée. The collection has already produced popular fragrances such as "Solano" and "Valparaiso".

Founded in 2004, the roots of the Le Couvent brand go back to the 17th century, when the monastery Le Couvent des Minimes was founded. It was here that the famous botanist Louis Feullée lived and studied, who was in the service of King Louis XIV and searched for new plant species on his travels. Le Couvent wants to pick up this era and uses mainly raw materials of natural origin. In addition, all fragrances of the brand are vegan. Since 2019, master perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena has been the head of Le Couvent's fragrance creations.

The new fragrance creation "Sperone" is revealed in a sleek black bottle with an octagonal cap.

The fragrance is available in bottle sizes of 50 ml and 100 ml.
