Creamy Blossoms, Spicy Woods: "Ylang Ambrato" and "Lignum Idealis" by Gucci
Gucci is adding two new Eaux de Parfum to its The Alchemist’s Garden collection: the floral-amber fragrance "Ylang Ambrato" and the woody, spicy composition "Lignum Idealis".
Ylang Ambrato - Creamy flowers and warm resins
"Ylang Ambrato" highlights the lush, creamy facet of ylang-ylang and combines it with the warm depth of tonka bean absolute.
Bergamot and neroli provide a fresh opening, accompanied by the dry spice of black pepper. The fragrance becomes warmer in the heart: benzoin and tonka bean absolute bring a balsamic sweetness, while Madagascan ylang-ylang provides a floral core. Allspice leaf adds a green, slightly spicy accent. The base is balsamic and dense with notes of oakwood CO₂, opoponax, tolu balsam, and cistus absolute, complemented by a smoky tobacco note.
The composition was created by Jean-Christophe Hérault, Senior Perfumer at IFF.

Lignum Idealis – wood with a modern twist
"Lignum Idealis" is an ode to the giant sequoia and aims to capture its warm character. The composition is based on a spicy, woody extract obtained using headspace technology.
The fragrance opens with black pepper, Spanish cypress, and juniper berry, which together unfold an aromatic freshness. At the heart, spicy woody sequoia notes come to the fore, complemented by the creamy impression of Dreamwood™ and the balsamic depth of incense absolute. At the base, Australian sandalwood, Haitian vetiver, and Virginia cedarwood provide a warm finish.
"Lignum Idealis" was created by French perfumer Alexis Grugeon.

New chapters in the collection "The Alchemist's Garden"
Both new products are part of The Alchemist's Garden collection, which was launched by Gucci in 2019. The line's design and concept are inspired by historic apothecary bottles and the Italian tradition of herbalism and essences.
Among the most popular creations in the collection are "The Last Day of Summer" with notes of cedar, cypress, nutmeg, and vetiver, "A Song for the Rose," a concentrated rose with musk and woods, and "A Reason to Love," an oriental-spicy fragrance of rose, ode, and tolu balsam.
"Ylang Ambrato" and "Lignum Idealis" were produced in Spain. Both fragrances are available in 50 and 100 ml bottles.
