A Song for a Rose, hidden rose behind lemon balm

I just received my decant of this one. I was intrigued by the scent but frankly. It's not a rose perfume at all. The main accord I am getting is lemon balm, not even lemon grass. No woodiness. The rose stands in the back and you have to search for it because the lemon balm is so dominant. I do not dislike lemon balm since we always had it and I enjoyed squeezing the leaves to have my hands smelling lemon balm. I can imagine that I will actually enjoy this fragrance in hot weather because of this lemon balm and the freshness it brings. Just not what I had expected by the name and the listed notes. Would I buy a full bottle? most likely not, will I still enjoy my decant? hopefully in summer this year!

Painting Without a Canvas

What’s inside is what it says on the label: roses.
Climbing roses, to be precise.
The clouds in the sky pass quickly, creating a wild play of shadows. Just when the rose bush is in the shade, damp and slightly sour, its blossoms immediately shine again in the sunlight, juicy and almost fruity.
The scent has a soapy undertone, not of the classic kind, but much more like modern liquid soap. This soapy note cannot quite find its place, sounding dissonant.
What’s special about this climbing rose is that there are no walls, no gates, no wires - the blossoms cling nowhere, they float. Like a painting without a canvas.
There is only the choir of roses with the soap, which misses the right note, and the musical accompaniment is absent. There is no background. No other little flowers, no green, no wood. Nevertheless, the scent radiates powerfully, lasting a long time.
This fragrance leaves me somewhat confused with its seemingly intentional superficiality, with its missing structure.
For me, it is exactly that: a stiff mask, a facade.

With the Guitar in the Rose Field

I sat in a field full of strong red roses... And while my eyes perceive a strong purple of lavender on the horizon, I strum Wicked Game by Chris Isaak to myself... By the way, this song has been my favorite since I was a child.

The most beautiful things in life don't have to be complicated. Sometimes all it takes is a guitar made of good wood, a few roses, and something clean and soapy on the horizon to make our happiness perfect.

It lasts for 7 hours, but the sillage becomes rather subtle after a maximum of 3 hours. Although it was never overwhelmingly dominant. At most, it starts off with a 2-meter radius. After that, it’s about half a meter where you can really perceive the scent.

Moreover, the bottle is a true masterpiece.
