Fragonard “Rose de Mai”: A Modern Tribute to the Queen of Grasse
With the Eau de Toilette “Rose de Mai (2026)”, the traditional French house Fragonard pays tribute to the Centifolia rose—one of the defining ingredients of classic perfumery.
After the original version “Rose de Mai” from 1998—a fresh, floral fragrance for women—was discontinued, the brand is now returning with a modern edition. At the heart of this reinterpretation is once again the legendary Centifolia rose: floral, elegant, and bearing the signature French style for which the perfume house is renowned worldwide.

The Composition: A Walk at Dawn
Inspired by a morning stroll through the gardens, “Rose de Mai (2026)” with a lively, fresh opening of Italian bergamot, delicate violet leaves, and fruity blackcurrant. The floral heart features a trio of rose absolute from Grasse, along with Bulgarian and Turkish roses. In the base, notes of Virginia cedar and amber provide a gentle, woody warmth, while white musk ensures a soft finish.
About Fragonard
As a family-owned business, Fragonard has been firmly rooted in Grasse since 1926. Now in its fourth generation, the company remains true to its artisanal roots—in the heart of a region considered one of the most important sources of high-quality fragrance ingredients. The company is named after the painter Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732–1806), one of the defining artistic figures of the French Rococo period.
“Rose de Mai (2026)” is available in 100-ml and 200-ml bottles.
