"Le Geste d'Edmond" is a tribute to Edmond Albius and his legacy in vanilla cultivation. Before Edmond's invention in 1841, the cultivation of vanilla was almost exclusively limited to Mexico. This changed when the then twelve-year-old slave from the island of Réunion discovered the method of manual pollination. His simple but effective technique enabled vanilla to be cultivated worldwide and made Madagascar the most important producer.
The fragrance opens with the invigorating, spicy freshness of Malagasy ginger, followed by a warm, spicy heart of Ceylon cinnamon and cloves. The base note reveals a rich, woody-sweet weave of Bourbon vanilla, Ambrostar and Toncalactone®, which gives the fragrance its depth.
