Salty Academia
The opening is floral, but not sweet — and don’t worry if you aren’t a tagete (marigold) fan, as it quickly fades into a salty suede heart. I don’t pick up on the ink note, which disappoints me as it’s one of the reasons I tested this. A little musk gradually emerges, but I never get the sugary note along with it.
The overall impression is oddly soothing and familiar yet academic, like the cozy study of a beloved eccentric relative.
There is zero — and I do mean zero — sillage (and that’s coming from someone who prefers close scents). This is a press-your-nose-to-your-skin kind of scent, which is surprising considering that a number of the notes are often on the strong side (leather, jasmine, etc).
It’s completely unisex and completely unique — I can’t say I’ve ever smelled another fragrance quite like this one.
