Summer Night and Sweet Temptation: The New Creations From Jean Poivre

Summer Night and Sweet Temptation: The New Creations From Jean Poivre

Jean Poivre is expanding its collection with two unisex fragrances: "Lost in Moon River", inspired by summer nights, and "Sounds Like a Melody", an opulent creation with Gorumand notes.

Lost in Moon River - The essence of a warm summer night

Diary entry - July 12, 1793
I cannot believe that Sophie could be such a devilish creature. The way she danced before me, clad only in a transparent piece of cloth. Her flawless body shimmered through it, her coquettish gaze promised sensual delights, her lips promised paradise. Her circular movements wafted a delicate scent towards me, as if we were walking in love through a garden full of juicy fruit and colorful flowers. Together we gazed at the moon in the cloudless night sky (...)

My heart began to race. The next full moon is only a few nights away.
What would happen if I slipped her snake ring onto my finger? Would I then travel from one life to the next in her place? What a fascinating idea. Would the next me succeed in creating the perfect perfume? Or the one after that?
Should I follow this temptation and ignore Immanuel's warnings?Parfumerie Oswald

"Lost in Moon River" opens with fruity-fresh nuances of bergamot, mandarin and orange, infused with the dark sweetness of blackcurrant. At the heart, a lush bouquet of jasmine, magnolia, rose and tuberose blossoms, complemented by velvety white lily and the spicy Mediterranean touch of cypress. The base combines the gentle warmth of tonka bean with earthy vetiver and soft white musk, which gives the fragrance depth.

Sounds Like a Melody -  A delicious temptation

Diary entry - July 10, 1793
The conversation with Immanuel about Sophie still won't let me rest. What he revealed to me has shaken me to the core. Could it really be true? Her ring had revealed her secret. A snake biting its own tail. Immanuel couldn't be more certain: Sophie was a sister of the Mehen. This secret order originated from two women who, thousands of years ago, had helped the snake god Mehen to accompany the pharaoh into the afterlife (...)

Delicate, floral notes full of green, fresh clarity triggered an enchanting melody in my head, which was then replaced by shrill cacophonies and deafening noise. My head hurt so much that I thought it would burst. I suddenly remembered that Sophie had bitten me on the ear after a night of passion. Is my fate sealed or is there an escape? Parfumerie Oswald

The fragrance journey of "Sounds Like a Melody" begins with fruity notes, tangy mandarin, warm nutmeg spice and saffron. A creamy-sweet gourmand composition of caramel and vanilla then unfolds at the heart of the fragrance, before a base of amber, ambergris, leather, mossy notes and white musk warmly rounds off the composition.

About Jean Poivre

In its niche fragrances, Jean Poivre combines elegance, creativity and inspiration from nature. The Dutch label is inspired by the idea of the search for the 'perfect fragrance' - a motif reminiscent of Patrick Süskind's novel The Perfume. According to the brand story, Jean Poivre was a visionary perfumer who, during the French Revolution, was driven by the desire to create the perfect composition. Sophie, his mysterious confidante, opened the door to an occult world and changed his life. In collaboration with young perfumers in Grasse, these fictional stories and scenes are captured in modern fragrance creations.

The new fragrances are available in 100 ml bottles.
