The New Unisex Fragrance "Absent Presence" by Beaufort - Inspired by Poetry

London-based fragrance house Beaufort caps off its "Revenants" collection with the spicy, woody Eau de Parfum "Absent Presence".

O absent present, Stella is not here
The fifth and final installment of the 'Revenants' collection is inspired by the Elizabethan poet Sir Philip Sidney.  In his sonnet sequence "Astrophel and Stella," Sidney develops and captures the essence of a haunting...the presence of a person always felt but never seen.

The top notes combine fresh bergamot and black pepper oil, accompanied by the tangy-spicy presence of galbanum. The heart reveals the delicate floral elegance of jasmine and the green nuance of violet leaf absolute, before finally fusing notes of vetiver bourbon oil, smoky leather, sandalwood, musk, amber and cedar wood to a sensual finish.

The "Revenants" collection from Beaufort opened in 2017 with the fragrance "Iron Duke". The following year, "Rake & Ruin" joined the collection, followed by "Terror & Magnificence" 2019. In 2022, the floral-resinous creation "Acrasia" enriched the collection. Now, with "Absent Presence", the fragrance series inspired by works of historical figures of Great Britain comes to a close.

Now I, wit-beaten long by hardest fate,
So dull am, that I cannot look into
The ground of this fierce love and lovely hate,
Then some good body tell me how I do,
Whose presence absence, absent presence is;
Blesst in my curse, and cursed in my bliss.

Sir Philip Sidney, „Astrophil und Stella - Sonett 60“

Beaufort - A tribute to the sea and British history

The British fragrance brand Beaufort was born in 2013 from the passion of Leo Crabtree, a musician known since 2008 as the drummer with the band The Prodigy.
He drew his inspiration for Beaufort from the UK's rich and tumultuous history. The label's name, derived from the Beaufort scale used to measure wind strength, is meant to symbolize the brand's powerful and often rebellious essence.

The perfumes tell olfactory stories of seafaring, adventure and historical figures, inviting wearers on a journey through the history and culture of Britain. For example "Iron Duke" serves as a tribute to Arthur Wellesley, the Duke of Wellington, while the perfume "Lignum Vitae" draws its inspiration from the materials used by 18th-century watchmakers who made the first ship clocks.

The new fragrance is available in a bottle size of 50 ml.
