Almond in a Warm-Cold Interplay: “L'Homme Idéal Cologne Forte” by Guerlain

Guerlain expands its line L'Homme Idéal with the limited-edition men's fragrance "L'Homme Idéal Cologne Forte" - an interpretation of almond between frosty freshness and warmth.

L'Homme Idéal, Guerlain's first fragrance for men with an almond accord, presents a new limited edition: L'Homme Idéal Cologne Forte, a frosty and incandescent almond that reveals an entirely new olfactory expression of the collection's iconic and signature ingredient.

Since the launch of the sweet, gourmand men's fragrance "L'Homme Idéal (Eau de Toilette)" in 2014, almond has shaped the character of the fragrance range. this was followed in 2015 with "L'Homme Idéal Cologne", a more citrusy, fresher direction. The new Eau de Parfum now combines both approaches and interprets the almond note as "glowing cool" - developed by Delphine Jelk, Guerlain's in-house perfumer.

"L'Homme Idéal Cologne Forte" opens with tangy grapefruit, which emphasizes the cool, slightly bitter facets of almond. At the heart, the almond note gains presence and becomes softer and creamier. Vetiver and incense form the final note and lend the composition a warm, woody-smoky finish. This is intended to create an interplay of contrasts: bitter-cool at the beginning and deep and smoky at the end.

The bitterness of the almond, emphasized by the invigorating freshness of the grapefruit notes, is warmed by the woody nuances of vetiver and incense.
