Rose of a poem
Acrasia, in Spencer's unfinished poem, “The faerie Queen”, is the enchantress, seducer of knights, comparable in parts to the sorceress Circe of the Odyssey.
This creation wants to reflect the soul of this fatal witch: we have an alcoholic, almost intoxicating opening, from which a rose emerges which, in my little experience, comes out of the classic mold.
It's attractive but pungent at the same time, something really unusual that I initially couldn't appreciate. Trying it again, I have to say that it is unique and pleasant, really special, and I would gladly wear it.
It is the Acrasia painted by Strudwick, beautiful, seductive, surrounded by Rose but with a nature around her that is at times restless and dark.

Rose, not rose
I like this mixture of wine, rose and patchouli. However, the perfume strongly reminds me of another one, Tauer Une Rose Chypree, unfortunately it does not have the depth that Tauer achieves thanks to the substances that the EU banned in March 2022. Unfortunately, the fragrance of Beaufort, although great, is also flat, and there is no atttude as Fatom V, Vi et Armis, Tonerre. It's a pity, maybe they will tweak something in the next batches, as in the previous ones they did old formulas less challenging. Btw Tauer last floral perfume Golestan is flat too. So we will be healthier, but living in boring 2 dimensional world of grey & pastels

you've all heard of office siren, now get ready for office vampiress
red wine spilled all over freshly ironed black shirt, one that has been washed with "for black fabrics" detergent specifically - and that's probably the rose/geranium/patchouli (especially geranium) combo that i'm getting here.
it's harsh in the opening (consider it the splash of wine moment), but once it settles, it melts into your skin and into your consciousness. it envelops you, dances around you, creates the aura of elegance and confidence.

Haunting, powerful and seductive
The fragrance takes inspiration from the titular enchantress in Edmund Spenser's allegorical epic, The Faerie Queene, and offers a strikingly beautiful and unsettling inquiry into the ideas of temptation and transformation.
From the very beginning, it seizes your attention with an unusual and enticing blend of astringency from the Sicilian lemon, and a strong, dusty red wine note, which some individuals may describe as metallic or aggressively boozy.
Once this opening goes strong and begins to settle, you will experience a beautifully elaborate heart of the fragrance where a dark and enigmatic rose meets the coolness of the icy incense, along with a touch of green from the geranium. The spiciness of the cinnamon adds warmth to the notes.
Finally, you are taken into the base, which is warm and enveloping with notes of amber, vanilla, and light cedar, which contrasts the opening with a soft powder creaminess. The fragrance, in total, melts beautifully into the skin while maintaining its unusual and mildly disquieting elegance.
"Acrasia" is a strikingly beautiful blend, and this blend of fragrance carefully juxtaposes bright freshness (the citrus) with dark resinous warmth (the wine, incense, amber, shape, and texture).

A Dark Red Dream of Wine and Roses
It is already midnight and tomorrow is an important day. Preparations must be made, sufficient sleep is absolutely necessary.
However, the prince sits wide awake in his chamber. Through the open window, the citrus notes of the lemon trees clearly drift in, the scent of his beloved homeland.

He fears the new day. All these efforts, is it even worth it?
A cup of wine won't hurt, he thinks, at least I can sleep better.
The fresh, fruity red wine now allows him to think about the next day with more ease.
Inspired by the scent of the wine, he decides to take a walk through the rose garden. Somehow, the roses have always calmed him. He often came here to sort out his thoughts and make decisions.

It is a foggy night, yet the moon shines brightly, partially obscured by scattered clouds.
The deep scent of red roses makes the prince pause and enjoy the scene. He stands at the edge of the rose garden, fine tendrils of mist surround the beautiful flowers he has visited since childhood.
He completely surrenders to his feelings, the dark scent of the roses and the wine, which seems to become spicier (cinnamony) and heavier in his nose. The temptation overcomes him to simply stay awake this night.

He continues to push aside thoughts of the obligations of the next day. He still feels a pang of guilt. So he asks the roses, as he has always done. What do they say?
Their scent now fills all his thoughts, he takes another sip of wine. A wonderfully dark red combination...
In his mind, it rings: Acrasia! That says it all. The night is still young, the burdens set aside. Despite better judgment, he decides to spend the night with his friends and good wine.

The prince makes his way back to the castle and heads to the wine cellar. From the kitchen, which lies on the way, the scent of vanilla pudding from tonight's dessert wafts through the air.
The cozy atmosphere of the wine cellar welcomes him. The woody scent of the barrels mingles with the red wine and the sweet vapors from the kitchen.
After another cup of wine, the prince feels pleasantly warm and even before he can visit his friends, he slips into a deep, heavy sleep.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acrasia starts refreshingly with citrus notes. Red wine notes, fruity-light, already come through.
After about 30 minutes, the lemon has receded, the wine becomes increasingly heavier and spicier, with the spice also being determined by a strong cinnamon note. A dark rose scent spreads, surrounded by wisps of incense. Dark red roses and robust wine are harmoniously present. Woody notes are already recognizable and become stronger over time. After about 90 minutes, vanilla and patchouli come through well, giving Acrasia a pleasant sweetness. The scent now also becomes warmer, balsamic, and caressing.

During the first testing, I found Acrasia already very good and wrote a statement. During the second testing, it completely blew me away, I raised my rating again and simply had to write another review.
A special scent that carries freshness, spice, and sweetness within it. It showcases fruity, floral, smoky, woody, and balsamic notes. The rose is presented here, with intoxicating red wine notes, in a completely different light.
Radiance: dark, strong, and yet cozy.

L'ADDM's gothic cousin! If you take the famous Tauer, remove the ambery base and add rose, you have this. Unconvential by Beaufort, lovely!

Some of you won't like this comparison: Acrasia is a much more sophisticated version of Sauvage EDT for more mature and distinguished noses.

You can buy all the literature from Beaufort, but it's a wine smell perfume with a dark rose, no much more.

Mostly a blend of woody ambers, to my nose a big Norlimbanol dose, not much more. Very cheap and lazy creation (I do enjoy this brand)

Spicy, dusty, slightly powdery. This is what I’d imagine Bergywerth to smell like. What a great interpretation of rose…

I don't love this brand, but this one knows how to stand out in a positive way. slightly pungent, green, smoky, floral and creamy. Nice

Reminds me of indoor camping with Girl Guides. Old building, log wood walls, pot pourri, citronella, cinnamon sticks, cleaning products

Seductive feminine hedonism that feels dangerous and irresistible. Baroque refinement and imposing authority. Perfect for Carmilla herself.
