Peppery in a balsamic coating...
Powerful spicy-woody with flowers and fruit. All in all, a showpiece Oriental with plenty of oomph. But I don't want this "Asad" to be reduced to these characteristics alone, because it also has its delicate and mysterious sides.
What should be said up front: Here, too, it depends on the "dose" in which it is sprayed. Less can be more.
First impression when spraying: pepper, very spicy, fresh to cool, paired with warm pineapple and good pipe tobacco. Slightly smoky-sweet note. But a little later, something creeps around like a cat around a bush... hard to locate at first, then becoming more and more present... powdery iris enveloped by earthy patchouli. The delicate meets the powerful. A secret rendezvous at the heart of the perfume. Accompanied by a hint of black coffee. But by no means a disharmonious mishmash. Rather a creative statement of contrasting, yet matching fragrance elements. Not "gourmand" in that sense. Just a very light touch. Always accompanied by pepper.
The "heart" does not run out of steam when the base begins. Nor does the pepper. Pineapple and tobacco are also still subliminally present.
Now a flowing mantle of balsamic fragrances covers everything in a tart, silky way without covering it up. Woods and amber together with dark vanilla do the honors of rounding everything off nobly. Dark, but always with bright spots of light, which the pepper and pineapple project like stars in the sky. Not forgetting the liaison between patchouli and iris! These also flash up again and again until the end. Like shooting stars in the night sky.
Sometimes mystical, sometimes slightly brittle, but always special.

"Wet Anna" and dry wood!
Yes, it's definitely fruity! But not in the sense of a sweet "fruit salad", but in the form of a combination of warm pineapple and cool citrus fruits. All peppered with a subtle sweetness and quite a tart aftertaste. It seems to be pepper with a pinch of nutmeg, a pinch of cardamom and probably also some coriander.
Woods also play a major role here, which I would describe as "dry". Aromas of fir, cypress and cedar emerge again and again, finally to stay. The juiciness of the "wet Anna", the cool freshness of the citrus and the dryness of the woods form a "contradictory unity", which I find refined, très bon. I also appreciate the delicate smokiness from the background. Birch tar-like scents, paired with some incense and vetiver, which gives the perfume "stand" and depth. The slightly "synthetic" aspect is not a disruptive factor here, as it quickly fades over time and does not affect the overall impression. All in all, a tart, woody "fruit" that is suitable for all seasons, except possibly in winter. Not too "pleasing", you can't smell it at every corner ;-))

Who invented it? We Swiss didn't, but we make one of the best!
Well, this is not about herbs from the Alps, which it could be, but this time it's about spices. And not just spices. It's about a fragrance that was composed on the basis of cloves. These form the "basic framework" for a perfume that need not fear competition from other "spice orientals" such as "Opium" or "Youth Dew" and the like. Because it somehow combines all of them and yet smells independent enough to be easily recognized by connoisseurs of vintage perfumes.
Exactly! The clove does it! It is surrounded by a wonderful array of flowers, especially roses, garden carnations and iris. There is also cinnamon, pepper and coriander. Probably even more spices, but this "trio" is clearly recognizable.
There is no shortage of other "trappings" either, as evidenced by the woody, earthy, balsamic and smoky notes. Frankincense, myrrh, vetiver, sandalwood and much more complement and give a wonderfully long hold, pleasant radiance ("sillage") and clear depth.
But the clove always remains in the foreground without you getting tired of it.
Who says the Swiss can't create spicy oriental fragrances???? Only BANAUSEN! They may not have invented the fragrance concept, but they do it one of the best :-))

Of herbs, sea, moss and elm
One of the "forest rats" that make sniffing a pleasure is exactly this one! Because it's not just one of these gnarled, green representatives, but brings with it a whole entourage of other elements. There is the north-easterly wind, which brings an "aquatic" breeze from the sea. Cool and slightly salty, it sweeps along!
Then there is the "Krauterer" or a "Kräuterweiblein", responsible for aromatic areas with the makings of a "farmer's garden".
The "OberMOOSER" doesn't need to hide either, the green berock from the trunks of old trees, mainly found on the north side. And while I'm on the subject of tree trunks, there's also a gnarled, ancient elm. The bark is cracked and barky, the light green tree sap is fresh green and has a woody scent.
Now these "Fantastic Four" have been conjured up into a fragrance that will make the nostrils of lovers of classic fougères and unusual green aromas flutter with fragrant delight! Yes, and it is even suitable for "layering" in order to really liven up slightly boring perfumes. Whether pure or in a double: "Naser" and "Näsin" can get their full fill of herbs, sea, moss and "elm" here :-))

Spicy blue expanses!
Or a sea breeze from the far north. As far as similarities to other fragrances are concerned: The BLUE... otherwise specifically "Wave for Men" and that in particular! If that's not high praise for a so-called "cheapie"! Yes, I like it, just like I like this color!
Cool, but not cold! Like a summer vacation on the North Sea. Or one in spring on the still sparsely visited Mediterranean. The "Mediterranean" comes from slightly bitter grapefruit, a little rosemary and definitely a hint of coriander.
Then there is the pepper, which leaves a cool, spicy impression. To prevent chills, there is a portion of warm orange blossom on top. Birch and aromatic, coniferous juniper are probably responsible for the green splashes of color that are always present in the background. And a pinch of salt in the fresh sea air adds the finishing touch to the impression of vastness and the sea!
A "pinch" of patchouli provides good grounding and depth. Not the "shallow water" that I have often read about this great fragrance! Instead, it is a thick wave of rich blue sea water reflecting the blue sky with white clouds! The coastal forest in the immediate vicinity ;-))
