A Piece of Home in a Bottle
With the start of my studies, it became increasingly difficult to fly home in the summer. During the semester breaks, one went on excursions, gained practical experience, or studied for upcoming exams and papers. All the more I looked forward to the souvenirs from my parents, as they reminded me of the beautiful vacation time and catapulted me back to the sunny north of Greece within seconds. Besides the soup specialty "Trachana," which my grandmother always made herself, it was especially a beeswax plate with fresh honey from our region that I eagerly awaited. To this day, I associate this mountain honey with the comforting feeling of "coming home" and "inner peace." Evody's fragrance creation "Onde 7" from the oriental series "Collection d'Ailleurs" also awakened nostalgic memories in me after the first test...
The scent begins with a peppery note, attributed to ginger, but quickly makes way for other spices, among which I also suspect a hint of cinnamon. At the same time, a combination of beeswax and tonka bean appears, which is consistently present and provides a delicate sweetness. The notes are caressed by balsamic woods. Although patchouli usually takes a dominant role in oriental fragrances, here it serves merely as a base for the heart notes to ground themselves and fully unfold.
An elegant, warm scent with a very subtle sweetness interwoven with balsamic woods. Tonka bean and beeswax play ping-pong on a meadow made up of woods and patchouli - a harmonious interplay of the two components, which do not hold back from each other until the very end.
Its longevity and presence are in a decent range of up to 5 hours, so reapplication is not necessarily required. I can also imagine it very well on gentlemen who are not shy of slightly sweeter scents.
For summer, it would be too heavy, and an overdose would surely send not only humans but also every bee fleeing. However, for a cool, windy autumn day like this, it seems ideal and provides the necessary warmth one longs for. Just like the warmth of those summer days while strolling through the bushes and hills of my homeland.
