Creamy pistachio lemon tart

Exactly as I said.
I was also quite weirded out like "pistachio? how could that smell" but reality is it really DOES SMELL LIKE PISTACHIO. Imagine baked pistachios with some creamy lemons.
This is nutty, smooth, sweet from the lemons but also it has that typical savory-ness that pistachios have.
I think this is one of the most artistic and well done designer fragrances of the recent years. In times where designer brands release blue fragrances, Hermes (Christine Nagel) really has done something exceptional with this.
(It doesn't necessarily remind me of Kythira, but the scent is chefs kiss.)

Strange but beautiful.

It's a strange smell. Dominant pistachio with bug spray. Weird but true, it's a bit of a nice smell. This fragrance needs sun and warmth. Here in the Netherlands it is now cold, rainy and windy. Everything this fragrance does not stand for.
The strong pistachio note quickly disappears and the scent becomes more citrusy in a bug spray way and the dried grass makes the scent even more balanced. But again, in a very nice way. Christine Nagel knows how to create a beautiful and certainly not everyday perfume. She knows how to take Hermes fragrances to a new level. Tribute!

Hermes Surprised me..but not in a great way

Well...this is new.

Normally when I smell a Hermes fragrance I am instantly rushing to come on to forums, subreditts, Instagram, comments sections to slavishly-simp for the Designer brand I believe to greater than Tom Ford, Dior and Gucci.

But not this time. I am stumped. The opening of this I like and it would get the right kind of response from me, but the mid and dry down just leave me disappointed. I am not a fan of it. I don't like the scent of Pistachio, I like to eat them, but the smell...nah

For me the transition from the very clean very juicy and mouth-watering citruses that Hermes seem to capture and utilise. Beautiful. But then along comes the pistachio, drowned in olive oil trampling through this garden with its shit covered boots.

I really don't get the use of the pistachio, it has a weird tangy-musty three day unwashed stank that I cannot get over. I wish I could place this beside the other Hermes fragrances that I like.

I can see why others like this and I don't think they're wrong, its a fragrance that I wished I liked. I don't.

The salad dressing of my dreams, but do i want to smell like this?

After a sharp citrus opening, I got very pure and realistic lime, olive oil, hazelnut and pistachio’s from this. Delicious, really, I would definitely like to eat this, on a salad or with greek yogurt and oranges. The only problem is: I don’t know whether I want to smell like (even a really delicious) light meal!

3 sprays on my wrist lasted about 5 hours, with occasional little clouds of aromatic (and sometimes overly sharp) lime with pistachio waving hello during the first two hours. The dry down is full of extra virgin olive oil with a hint of sweetness (like there is a tiny drop of honey in my vinaigrette).

Pistachio and herbs in the scorching sun

This is certainly a unique summer scent, completely unlike the other Jardins. I love pistachio as a note and as a snack, so I was very curious to try this, even though dry hay and olive wood aren't notes that would drive me in normally.

And just like I expected, I really like the creamy, nutty pistachio in it, but am not too sure about the rest. Sometimes I really enjoy the scent, but then I feel overwhelmed by it. For the record, I don't think that this smells like olive oil or a salad, it's not that savory, but it is very herbal and aromatic. The opening is pure pistachio and some unlisted fresh citrus notes, but then it turns quite dry. Is it hay? I don't know, it also smells like rosemary and lavender to me, and while I love lavender, the rosemary is bothering me. It feels a bit harsh and dirty at times. Underneath it all lies a base of smooth woods, which is very likeable again, but smothered by the herb notes for hours.

The fragrance has sun-dried, roasted feel that matches the yellow tone of the bottle and the illustation on the box quite well.

All in all, I don't think it's for me. There are moments where I like this a lot, and the next minute I don't like it at all. To be fair I'm not really one for aromatic scents, except when they're balanced with a lot of sweetness, which this doesn't have. I decided to rate it as 7, but a single number really can't express how I feel about this.

PS: I tested this in summer and somehow forgot to post my review, not sure how this is gonna perform in the cold.
