Finally!
When I first sniffed the fragrance from an AF, it immediately went into my "re-test box" because I wasn't sure if I'd got it right after testing a few other new fragrances at the time.
Today was the day, so I sprayed it on and I almost can't stop "inhaling" it. Incredibly good!
In my opinion, the name "Marseille" is absolutely apt.
I've been there before and I find it more than amazing how you can capture this city so well in a fragrance.
The scent conveys such a wonderful freshness of a wonderfully cool room at the height of summer on the French coast. A freshly made bed with cool linen after a day at the beach. In a metropolis where the smell of salty air from the sea, sun, Mediterranean food and simply life is always present.
The fragrance is so wonderfully fresh, cooling, soothing, soapy and "clean", a real delight for me and I have now bought it too.
I already like it now in the current cool temperatures, but I'm looking forward to it helping me through the coming and corrosive summer temperatures a little. And it will!
Finally a fragrance that does NOT end in any kind of sweetness... Simply great!

Blissful freshness
I recently bought the tasting set from M & G because I think the "Bergamot (Eau de Parfum) | Malin + Goetz" is so great.
When I sniffed this little sample, I was actually already smitten... such a fresh and yet warm and soft fragrance and finally one without sweetness or powder... i was blown away!
Unfortunately, I've already realized that some fragrances that are initially great for me don't become what I like, so I've worn it twice now and have to say: it's (almost) perfect!
However, the "almost" only refers to durability and sillage, but the fragrance itself is fresh, bright and tart for me, yet later warm and "embracing".... I would love to bathe in it :D
Please forgive me for not being able to document a fragrance progression, my nose is not really up to that yet. Better rely on the classification above for that.
But I can only advise every Vetivier fan (who, like me, doesn't like sweetness) to try this fragrance, it's wonderful!

Ri(e)cht(ig) good!!!
First of all: for about 30 years my absolute favorite fragrance has been "Aromatics Elixir (Perfume) | Clinique" and I would still love to wear it, but unfortunately I only notice it on me for a very short time after spraying it on, so the search for a new "that-is-me fragrance" led me to this page (unfortunately with the usual collateral damage such as the horrified look at the account or increasing lack of space *sigh*). Before that, I had hardly ever dealt with fragrances and had to learn 1. various technical terms and 2. my preferences (e.g. "chypre"... a few weeks ago I had a huge question mark in my thought bubble when I heard the term).

Thanks to a super lovely perfumer (thanks again to Igraine) who sent me a fantastic sample pack, and after reading the descriptions/reviews, I learned a lot.

She was also the one who gave me the tip to try the Grasse Experience. Given the price, I immediately did so.... and what can I say? It's a really successful dupe and, to my great delight, I even notice it on me for longer than my AE.
The GE is "milder" and less "nasty" (at the beginning) than the AE, but the composition is really very similar. It's probably just a small difference that gets my perception back on track, but of course I'm totally happy :)

I can only agree with many statements on this: it's a more subtle version of AE (which is really a joke in terms of price), and for all those who like chypre, a fragrance for every season and occasion, nothing sweet and/or powdery (like me), but something rather unusual, I can only recommend spending the approximately 7.00 (!) euros (50 ml, Amazon) and giving it a try.

The aunt from America
Yes, I have (or had until recently, she unfortunately died in New Jersey in 2022 at the age of 88).
She visited us, my father (her brother) and me with her husband Paul, every few years in Germany and always brought something with her.
Around 1995 she gave me the nude (I was about 25)... at first I couldn't do much with it, it smelled kind of sweet and powdery to me :(
But since I don't just throw such gifts away, I tested it again a few years later and lo and behold, I got something completely extraordinary out of this fragrance: and that is what comes quite close to the name "Nude": the scent of skin that has been in the sun, an unobtrusive "scent" of warm human, actually naked skin! And somehow sexy :D
Unfortunately, I'm not the brightest candle on the cake in olfactory and prosaic terms, and I can't describe this fragrance as well as so many others here. But if you like a subtly powdery, warm, slightly sweet scent (which I don't really like at all, but THIS one!), this would be the one for you.
Especially as it's really cheap, which I can't understand at all, as I think it's pretty unique...
