Three minutes of anaesthesia followed by a pile driver concert
Sorry, but that's exactly how I perceive the scent.

I am a huge fan of the scent of natural night jasmine. The aroma of Cestrum Nocturnum, which is actually not a real jasmine, has an almost magical attraction to me and makes me totally rave. So I had to sniff this perfume absolutely and let me get a bottling.

And yes, at the beginning explodes a jasmine bomb. So circa three minutes, I smell mainly jasmine Grandiflorum and 'nen breath Sambac out. Night jasmine - Dama de Noche? No way. I even compared it directly with the Dama de Noche by Alquimia Pervane, of which I bought a stock here. And the first impression didn't fool me. I can't smell out any night jasmine in all that narcotic cloud. Beautiful it smells nevertheless :)
Disappointingly, the narcotic jasmine mixture lasts about three minutes and then immediately goes into a fragrance that already reminds me very strongly of Rammstein's "Cocaine". This I have in the Intense variant also here. But the 75ml bottle there is just at a much lower price and cocaine Intense moves as far as the performance also in the same class.

Do not misunderstand, the fragrance of Aaron Hughes here is not bad. I just find that the name does not do justice to the content or the other way around. Also, the fragrance pyramid seems confusing to me. But I can imagine that if you like the scents of Rammstein, you will also like this one. Only for an absolute night jasmine junkie like me, he unfortunately does not meet the expectations

On the test strip, "yikes", then "wow"
When I first had Black Opium Intense on the test strip at Douglas, I thought, what a bitter mess, who buys that? So I sent myself a bottle of the standard Black Opium through a lovely perfuma and compared it to the Dupe from La Rive. I was a little disappointed, because I had hoped that the original would smell longer and more intense than the Dupe. But no way, sometimes I couldn't tell the difference after a little time.

Because of the many good reviews and because I have noticed as a newcomer that the first impression can be deceptive about the further course of the fragrance, I ordered the Black Opium Intense. Arrived today, I directly put a sprayer on a piece of paper. As expected, the first impression was unpleasantly bitter but after a few minutes I couldn't put the note away. It now smells to me just as I had imagined the original Black Opium: dark, slightly floral, pleasant sweetness mixed with a fine coffee note. Elegant and wicked. The scent is clearly perceptible without killing me and if I imagine sitting next to a person who smells like that in the bus I could stand it very well without getting off with a headache afterwards.

Nevertheless I find the Intense as an everyday fragrance unsuitable for me. In my opinion it smells more like night and going out. Not exactly to a chic restaurant for a romantic dinner for two but great for a stroll through discos, clubs or even hip pubs. A scent that I will put on when I want to experience something. For an evening where anything can happen and as a background for a body-hugging, dark outfit, I imagine it to be perfect.

I am glad to have given this fragrance a second chance, because it deserves it. It will probably now take a permanent place with me, because I really like it very much.

Disappointed at first but then enchanted
I am new to the world of fragrances and had first bought the EdT without paying attention. But the scent lasts only a short time and is, according to my nose, also only briefly perceptible. Then I gave the EdP a chance and am enchanted! The scent is more intense without being obtrusive, mystical, dreamy, a little sensual, light and playful. Besides, I still have some of it after a few hours
