Gucci Rush Man - there you are again

My favorite scent in the 90s was Gucci Rush for men - the early years of Mr. Tom Ford (for me also his most creative).

This fragrance was already rumored to have a cocaine note back then. And it shaped the 90s creatively like hardly any other scent.

White Rush has a touch less myrrh and a pinch more charcoal ... all in all, however, very well-rounded and at a high level, with longevity and sillage comparable to the last drops of my rare Rush stock, which I can finally let go of without crocodile tears.

I just didn’t understand why Rossmann put it in the women's section. A worldly woman understands how enchanting this olfaction smells, but the majority of the drugstore vanilla-fruit girls are probably a bit overwhelmed and will buy the next “Eau de Pudding.” In the men’s section, it would probably perform twice as well.

I am already addicted to the scent ... my fragrance for the white T-shirt. Up on the scrambler and off through the city.

The Milder Cocaine Smoke

Cocaine was definitely too sweet for me. I was very taken with Black Ash. However, that one was still too sweet for me and not focused enough on the smoky note. Now I was very curious about White Ash...

The opening of White Ash was immediately exactly my thing! A scent that reminds me of freshly burned charcoal. Smoky with a relatively strong spiciness, from which you can still sense the type of wood. This goes exactly in my direction.

After an hour, a beautiful, slightly sweetening wood fire charcoal scent developed on my forearm. It is significantly less sweet and intense than Black Ash, which I find very pleasant. Although it is described as synthetic, I perceive it, at least on ME, as very natural.

The sillage is overall unobtrusive, so rather moderate to weak, which makes it even suitable for the office in the cooler half of the year. In the meantime, I regularly wear it in the office at outside temperatures below 5°C.

Alongside my forearm, I also applied it, quite incidentally, on a test strip: Here, a completely different scent development is revealed. The scent is much more intensely spicy here and the sillage is much stronger. Already annoyingly penetrating citrusy and not very smoky.

So, it’s a scent that is particularly recommended to be tested on your own skin.

In the second hour, the familiar cocaine sweetness comes through and the smoke fades, but still remains well present. The sweetness here is, however, significantly milder than in all other previously known Rammstein scents.

In the sixth hour, it is only very subtly perceptible close to the skin (with simple dosing). I think that a double dose could lead to an 8-hour longevity.
I fancy that I’m now also perceiving the musk...

In summary, we can say that we have here a relatively mild initially spicy/herbaceous and later sweet wood smoke scent, which (probably due to the combination of frankincense and sandalwood) has a certain hint of incense. If Black Ash is too sweet and too intense for you, but you generally like this direction, I recommend testing this one.

So far, this is the only Rammstein scent that has made it into my fragrance collection. All others, even if they started promisingly (Black Ash, Gold, Engel), usually fail in the second hour due to their synthetic, cheap-seeming sweetness. Which is very unfortunate. This one is THE exception.

By the way:

At the drugstore with the horse, they categorize it among the women's fragrances! That’s why I could never find it there...
It must be due to the appearance of the packaging and the bottle. In my opinion, the scent isn’t even unisex.

Rammstein White Ash Cocaine

I bought the scent today for 29.99 at Rossmann. I own the predecessor Cocaine Intense, which smells really damn good. So I wanted to give the new White Ash a chance since the Black Ash was unfortunately not available yet. This scent really smells very good and stands out from the crowd. The incense/fir scent is in the foreground here. I personally find that very interesting. Unfortunately, it doesn't last very long. After 2 to 3 hours, it's already gone. I also hope for an Intense version here. Does it smell like cocaine? I don't know what cocaine smells like. But if you're looking for something unusual, this is the right place. I know nothing comparable...

Ashes for Everyone!

With all the Rammstein fragrances I have tested so far, my first impression is:
"Wow, terrible. Who wears something like this and why?!"
Then I wait, and something wonderful develops from it.
With White Ash, I imagine I can smell tobacco, or rather, cigar tobacco leaf. Even if the fragrance pyramid says otherwise. It's nicely spicy, but still so subtle that it can easily be worn by a woman. I had White Ash on one wrist and Diamond on the other. My mother's comment, after sniffing both: "That one (White Ash) is better." Definitely not a reaction along the lines of "Why are you wearing aftershave?!"
I can only advise everyone: Don't be put off by the top note or the components of the fragrance pyramid, but engage with it and give the scent some time. In my experience, it's always worth it.

Rrrraptors-Rrrrrrockers - quite friendly after all

The German rock band "Rammstein" has now also become one of the "dinosaurs" of the somewhat grumpy rock genre. Often coming across as quite dark with their sounds during the hunt. But that's ultimately a matter of taste (and I do like some of the songs)..
For some time now, the "Raptor-Rockers" have not only been dazzling us with pyrotechnically thrilling stage shows, but they are also commissioning fragrances as "olfactory stimulants." Most creations are quite vivid and a bit rough-wild, but this "White Ash" impresses with "bright friendliness," although I wouldn't say that it's "tame mass-produced stuff." There are still peculiarities and "background" behind it.
Smoky woods, blazing in light orange and honey colors, with peppery "black powder" grains sprinkled in between. Spicy "kaleidoscope incense" wafts from the knots of birch and oak. Sparkling rock crystals of a bit of musk successfully round off the whole concept of this friendly-bright "light show." Yes, it almost comes across as noble, like a firework in honor of a (long-deceased) nobleman.
Buried in a cream-colored suit in a white coffin. His likeness relief-like engraved on the freshly cleaned gravestone...
In such suits, I can't quite imagine the "Rrrraptors-Rrrrrockers," but you never know.....
