Jasmine Narcotique Aaron Terence Hughes 2020

Little surprising, the Jasmine Narcotique (2020) offers a lot of jasmine blossoms. You should like this opulence; otherwise, it will be difficult to cope with this fragrance. At first, I am rather moderately enthusiastic, but towards the end, the scent becomes quite pleasant. The longevity on my skin is a strong 12 hours with a successful sillage.

The top note smells very strong and intense of jasmine blossoms. Additionally, there is a certain animalic quality with a subtle green undertone. In the heart note, this floral aspect becomes a bit sweet, creamy, and powdery. I also think of soap, fabric softener, and effervescent powder. The base remains on the sweet-floral side with a musky finish.

Anyone who wants the full blast of jasmine blossoms should definitely give Jasmine Narcotique (2020) a try. I thank Nick for the sample.

Sorry, but that's exactly how I perceive the scent.

I am a huge fan of the scent of natural night jasmine. The aroma of Cestrum Nocturnum, which is actually not a true jasmine, has an almost magical allure for me and makes me totally swoon. So I absolutely had to sniff this perfume and had a sample sent to me.

And yes, at the beginning, a jasmine bomb explodes. For about three minutes, I mainly smell Jasmine Grandiflorum and a hint of Sambac. Night jasmine - Dama de Noche? Not at all. I even compared it directly with the Dama de Noche from Alquimia Pervane, for which I specifically stocked up here. And the first impression did not deceive me. I can't detect any night jasmine in all that narcotic cloud. It still smells nice though :)
Unfortunately, the narcotic jasmine mixture lasts only about three minutes and then immediately transitions into a scent that strongly reminds me of Rammstein's "Kokain." I also have that in the Intense variant here. But the 75ml bottle is available at a much cheaper price, and Kokain Intense also performs in the same class.

Don't get me wrong, the scent from Aaron Hughes here is not bad. I just think that the name does not do justice to the content, or vice versa. The fragrance pyramid also seems confusing to me. However, I can well imagine that if someone likes the scents of Rammstein, they would also enjoy this one. Unfortunately, for an absolute night jasmine junkie like me, it doesn't live up to expectations.
