Nope!
This is acrid and sour. It smells like if Maison Margiela pulled a Safiya Nygard and mixed all of their perfumes together! The best I could describe it using association would be, “Smoky citrus mixed with the smell of an Ulta.” Nothing aquatic. It all clashes and it gave me a headache only 2 minutes after application. I made it only 15 minutes before I had to wash it off.

Lavender Lemonade!
Smells like straight up lavender lemonade… for the first 3 hours. After that the lemon becomes much less juicy and the overall fragrance falls flat. It’s not terrible. I will use up my sample over the summer and search for other lavender lemonade-esque scents. I LOVE the beginning, but after 3-4 hours it just becomes kind of unpleasant to smell. If it just faded away after the first 3-4 hours it’d be a different story.

Why is it always the perfumes you dislike that have the best longevity?
This starts out very warm, amber heavy, and spicy. It actually reminded me of Female Christ sans the menthol-y note. It dries down however, into this incredibly cloying sickly sweet scent. VERY much like maple syrup (and no, I am not saying that because of the Japanese maple note.) There was a slight woody spiciness lurking beneath the syrupy mess, probably the hinoki.

I *wish* i could smell the leather and woodiness everyone else seems to be getting! I’m jealous because based off of the notes, this should be right up my alley! Instead I smell something so sweet it burns my nose and throat. It made me feel queasy and gave me a headache. I will give it props for the longevity and projection because I was still getting wafts from my arms after 13 hours! I washed it off at 13 hours so it could last longer but I’ll never know because I refuse to subject myself to that again.

Bathbombs
This smells so much like a Lush bathbomb. It’s this sweet white musk with a sparkly fruit note (blackberry.) There’s this underlying soapy and chalky smell to it as well that is really similar to the smell of the base bathbombs that is never fully covered up by whatever fragrances added to it. I feel like I’m standing in front of the wall display, sniffing them all before (trying to) gently drop a couple into those waxed paper bags.
The sage does not emerge on its own. It adds depth to the blackberry without making the whole fragrance very herbal. It has this “sweet without reading as edible” sweetness that reminds me of Mouse’s Long & Sad Tale.
Overall Bewitched has a very cozy vibe to it that makes me want to curl up under a comforter and read a book. A unique & very enjoyable fragrance! (Just be warned that BPAL scents tend to get better over time so you might hate it initially like I did.)
