A scream was heard!
I get loads of compliments wearing this. Amazingly many. The thing is I do not quite understand why. To my nose it is a fairly simple fragrance, not much ado. Loud but simple. Therefore I think that Armani has done it again: they have made a counter siren.
The fragrance starts out with the jasmine and rose in a bergamot combination. This leaves a heavy and full impression which is very hard to keep up with during the journey. It is as if your nose gets overwhelmed and stops working. Like your ears when a scream is heard and you are not able to hear normal sounds for a while.
Sometimes I miss the good old days when I was unable to smell anything complex. I would have worn Si everyday and been happy doing so.

To the masculine side
Idole is a rather masculine scent when I spray it. It has the sharpness and the lack of sweetness that usually comes with the pear. Jasmine is not loud and saffron and Vetiver make an overall woody/herbaceous ending. I like it all but it does not do anything good for me.
It even comes in a lovely bottle, Normally, I would buy fragrances just for the bottle but no. Not in this case.
Idole is a fragrance that I approve of being discontinued.

The beautiful hyacinth note
Acqua di Giò has an explicit hyacinth note. I love the fragrance so much because this is spring to me. Like lilacs. I live in a part of the world where flowers bloom late and I therefore associate hyacinths, lilacs and narcissuses with spring. Acqua di Giò has it all. I love the original Giò due to its warm floral feeling, and AdG is a great flanker.
The many notes in the scent are greatly combined. It is a discrete and nice scent, that warms up and blooms late. Luckily, it is a scent that stays fresh all the way. And it comes in a bottle with the same expression as the original, Giò. AdG is greener and that is noticed. Fresher and more volatile.
This is my review no. 300. 300 days of reviews; one each day. I shall continue until day 365. Stay tuned

A true power fragrance
Giò, being from ‘92, is old. From the time when a perfume had a list of 20+ notes and knocked doors down. I am a fan. This is allowed, simply because that was the spirit of the time. I love to open these time pockets and wear them with a nostalgic feeling in my heart and stomach. And yes, I adore Giò. Perfect to the last drop.
I have read some of the other reviews and I can not describe the perfume half as detailed and beautifully as it has already been done. What I can add is my own opinion.
Giò is a huge bouquet of wonderful flowers. It adds warmth to the skin and lights up the day. It seduces everyone around it. It makes people stop and ask what I am wearing. It makes me smile.
Giò forever!

Riding the wave of the success
I am not a fan of Davidoff Cool Water Woman. I know it is a success from 1996, and loads of people wore it back then I did not. I did not catch the vibe and I did not like the aquatic impression. But I do understand that a scent can become successful, even though I do not like it.
So the Cool Water Wave is different? According to the notes, quite a lot. According to my nose… hmm, it is still not my kind of scent. I like the Cool Water Sea Rose but not this flanker. Aquatic is just not my thing.
