Summer perfection

Acqua di Gio is a very intriguing scent and I can't believe I haven't tried this before now.

It's a little bit aquatic, extremely fresh and revitalising, unique and Summery.

Acqua di Gio isn't all fruits, in fact the heart of this fragrance is quite possibly one of the nicest floral blends you will ever discover.

The opening has just the right amount of sillage. The peony, pineapple, musky vodka, lemon and peach are light and shampoo-like. My favourite aspect of Acqua di Gio is the heart of course, which is a beautiful blend of white florals and banana leaf.

This fragrance reminds me of an Avon shampoo that I owned as a child. I used to wash my Barbie doll's hair with it, so this fragrance takes me back to my girlhood. I'll agree with the other reviewers that described Acqua di Gio as being a 'straight out of the shower' kind of scent. It is indeed very clean and fresh.

There isn't many scents to compare to Acqua di Gio. It's one of a kind. I highly recommend.

The beautiful hyacinth note

Acqua di Giò has an explicit hyacinth note. I love the fragrance so much because this is spring to me. Like lilacs. I live in a part of the world where flowers bloom late and I therefore associate hyacinths, lilacs and narcissuses with spring. Acqua di Giò has it all. I love the original Giò due to its warm floral feeling, and AdG is a great flanker.
The many notes in the scent are greatly combined. It is a discrete and nice scent, that warms up and blooms late. Luckily, it is a scent that stays fresh all the way. And it comes in a bottle with the same expression as the original, Giò. AdG is greener and that is noticed. Fresher and more volatile.
This is my review no. 300. 300 days of reviews; one each day. I shall continue until day 365. Stay tuned

A Mellow Mood

Something cool to drink on a 70 degree night. This fragrance is so urbane to me. It's a whole MOOD.

Nice fitted jeans, crisp white button down, pumps, and a flat cap. It's not the most feminine of fragrances, but something about it is so attractive. It's the epitome of how I view myself... Cool and laid-back.

Great projection and sillage.... A little goes a long way.

As always.... I LOVE the 90s

Sensitive to White Florals? Acqua di Giò is a killer.

I love how Acqua di Giò opens. At the top, I sensed musk and vodka straight away without knowing that they were listed notes. Unfortunately, my adoration ends there. Acqua di Giò turns sweet on me, too sweet, far too sweet. And the white florals aren't right for me. I had to scrub this one, as the white florals became just too irritating for me. Too bad too - love the opening & really wanted to see where this fragrance was headed.

If you're sensitive to white florals like I am, beware of Acqua di Giò - It's a killer.

Very much a thing of the 90s

Very much a thing of the 90s; it was everywhere even when it wasn’t. My grandparents had drug store shampoo that smelled like this that I used when spending summers at their house (maybe Suave?). In school, most girls had a similar smelling freesia body spray from Bath and Body Works that was always hanging in the air.

I get floral, fresh, and aquatic from it but without ties to something nostalgic, this probably feels pretty out of place today. The florals are aggressive and veer dangerously close to causing headaches, if not fully crossing that line.
