Colette - the charming and beautiful French writer, who wrote books in her husband’s name deserves to have her own scent. But instead of impersonating her, Colette from the house Tocca leaves an impression of a volatile and weak person. I dare say this is not who Colette was.
This scent is way too brief. It opens with delicious mandarin and juniper and soon moves to the flowers. Finally, after less than 2 hours, I only get vanilla. That does not do it for me. I do not want a fragrance that I have to splash on every half an hour.
So - lovely notes and a beautiful flacon. But longevity is poor.

Tocca offers a wide range of scented products, some for bath and body, others for homes. Normally, I would not expect a lot from a perfume made by a company that offers other products, but with Cleopatra the result is very good.
The second I sprayed it, I thought: Hypnôse edt by Lancôme. The very significant Jasmine gives the scent a different floral expression compared to the more classic. I really like it. It has personality and sillage. Longevity however is a bit to the poor side.
The bottle is so lovely. It looks like an item from the middle of the 19th century. Just adorable.
I can not wait to try the other two scents in my collection.

Some things ooze of luxury. L’Or de Torrente is a perfect example. Looking at the box with the golden writing and unwrapping the gorgeous bottle, egg shaped with delicate metallic patterns and the golden juice inside is pure luxury. A wonderful feeling. And then… spraying… wauw!
The smell is really unique and deep. Spicy, woody and just the right amount of sweetness. It does not make a lot of noise. It is not insisting on being heard/seen/smelled. It is a scent that knows its worth, confident and bold. There is nothing you want to change. When I spray I feel so happy I own this. I have a 30ml bottle but I am going to hunt for more.
This is in my top 20. I am almost certain that no matter what other marvelous fragrances I shall encounter, it will still be in my top 20 in 20 years.

I am now 75 reviews from completing my “365 reviews in 365 days”-project. It is getting harder to find fragrances in my collection that are interesting enough to write something about. Luckily, I stumble over new experiences every day. Today it was the bottle that inspired me.
The bottle is what I call classic. The square, chubby piece is a beauty in every bathroom - the shape so elegant and simple, yet decorative and something you reach for. It is, however, a shame that the scent is way too sweet. The peach is mentioned as a top note as well as a heart note and I must admit, that it is probably too peachy for me. I like peach in general, but not in this amount.

One of the scents I will always recognize and remember… one of the scents that bring back memories and happy moments… one of the magical potions that are unique and irreplaceable in my world…
I do not wear this often. But I am able to recall the smell of it no matter what I am doing and where I am. It keeps a very personal story in my heart, which I am not sure everyone should know so I am keeping it to myself. But my recommendations are true an insisting: do try this! Just once! You will not be disappointed.
