Sweet rum
I first came across this fragrance in the local Beckers after the friendly staff member recommended it to me and sprayed it on in comparison to Althair. In my search for a fall/winter fragrance, I actually wanted to try a few scents from Pdm, including Althair. But somehow there was something about this Initio fragrance that I immediately liked better than the Marly scent.
As the fragrance still smelled so delicious on my skin in the evening, I ordered a bottle directly from the souk and could hardly wait for it to arrive.
When it arrived and I sprayed it on properly for the first time, my enthusiasm was somewhat dampened.
With 4 sprays on my neck, I found it almost overwhelmingly sweet at first and it took me a few attempts to really warm up to this fragrance. Due to the sweetness, I would definitely classify it as unisex, a woman can also wear the fragrance very well. In the meantime, however, I have grown quite fond of it and love wearing it on cold days and mainly in the evenings.
The fragrance has a special note for me and, in my opinion, stands out clearly from other fragrances. I can smell the rum and tobacco and a sweet vanilla note.
The performance is very good, especially in the first few hours. With 4-5 sprays, you create a strong cloud of fragrance, which is already too sweet and overpowering for me at work.
I actually see it more as a fragrance for going out. It definitely makes you stand out and I've been asked about the fragrance several times. The fragrance is consistently well received by people around me.
I myself no longer notice it after about 3 hours or only sporadically. But I suspect I am becoming fragrance blind. But it's also possible that the newer batches actually don't have such a great shelf life. I can smell my 2019 Layton all day long, for example.
The bottle is very chic and looks beautiful in any collection.
You can argue about the price. I think you get a very unique fragrance with a good performance for your money.

I bought the fragrance because I noticed it very positively on my best friend. He wore it frequently for a while and I found it pleasant.
However, since I have owned it myself, I can understand some of the negative comments. I also find the Y too synthetic on me and annoying in the long run. That's why I only use it very rarely now.

Lasting power: lasts about 5 hours on my skin. Quite decent for a fragrance in this price range. And for me, for example, with a significantly better performance than a Bleu de Chanel edp.
Sillage: radiates well and creates a decent cloud of fragrance in the first few hours. Also smells better in the air than close to the skin.
Bottle: I find the bottle with the Y quite chic, but the black plastic lid looks cheap.
Value for money: if you like the fragrance itself, you get a decent fragrance for your money that is suitable as an everyday fragrance. As I mentioned, I see it being more popular with younger people.

Perfection
I can still remember the first time I smelled this wonderful fragrance in a perfumery.
The nice sales assistant had sprayed both Layton and its brother Layton Exclusive onto a test strip. The Exclusive is also a fantastic fragrance, but I couldn't put the test strip with the normal Layton out of my hand for the whole car journey home. It smelled like a delicious, sweet apple to me and completely different to anything I had smelled before.
It was immediately clear to me that I had to have this fragrance and so 3 days later I went to the perfumery and bought my first "expensive" fragrance.
I could hardly wait to open the packaging and spray on the fragrance, only to be a little disillusioned.
The fragrance still smelled great, but after a short time I had the feeling that I could hardly smell it or could only smell it close to my skin. I asked my girlfriend at the time and other people if they could still smell the fragrance after about 3-4 hours and they also hardly noticed it at first.
After about 2 months, however, the fragrance had matured well and had become much more long-lasting, and it had also developed a pleasant sweetness.
Almost 2 years after I bought it, the fragrance has a strong longevity and sillage and I still love it like the first day.
I wear it for all occasions and often in everyday life at university. For me, it is perfect to wear up to temperatures just above 20 degrees, after that it becomes too sweet for me, which is why it has a break in summer. Otherwise, it's perfect for me to wear at any time of year and for any occasion. I often layer it with Molecules 01, which in my opinion gives it an additional fresh component, especially at the beginning.
Compliments are inevitable with this fragrance. I am often asked about this fragrance and what a great perfume it is, by both men and women.
