A really good fragrance
A really lame title for a really good fragrance - chosen on the possibly naïve assumption that something lame will stand out in this day and age - a kind of antidote to clickbait. I hope my plan works, because Scarlet Poppy deserves more attention.

I was introduced to the fragrance when I bought a few bottles from a friendly perfumer and was immediately impressed. What a nice fragrance, I thought, so soft and warm, somehow fluffy, slightly gourmand to my nose, but not too sweet. Creamy, well-groomed and a touch sensual. Above all, I get a lot of fig and barley, a cozy, pleasant combination. Shyly beautiful, not intrusive, not loud, not defiant, but simply unusually pretty with the emphasis on unusual. Off to the wish list.

But my wish list was so long! First of all, I had to get my hands on "Le Vestiaire - Babycat | Yves Saint Laurent", and then the "Vanilla | 28 | Kayali" and of course the bombastic "Grand Soir | Maison Francis Kurkdjian". My wallet suffered a lot. More and more fragrances ended up on my wish list, which I was sorting and clearing out like a madwoman every day. Scarlet Poppy ended up on my wish list again, and every time I wore something from the bottling, it was back on the wish list. If there was a bottle in the souk, my fingers twitched like crazy, but I always thought about it too long and then it was sold. Damn.

This went on and on until the bottle was empty and a strange emptiness spread through me. I wondered if I should get another bottle, then realized with astonishment that my bottle of Scarlet Poppy was the first one I had ever emptied. It made no sense, I had to get a bottle.

A few weeks went by, then I bought it and what can I say, I've been using it every few days since it arrived. For me, Scarlet Poppy always works. Because it's just a really good fragrance!

A fragrance as it is written in the book
Youtubers from all over the world regularly hold it up to the camera, the Delina Exclusif. When I was catapulted back into the wonderland of fragrances after years of abstinence, I quickly made my way to the nearest perfumery. There, many test strips were held under my nose before I discovered the shelf with the Parfums de Marly fragrances in the corner.

"I'd like to try that one" - I pointed to the Delina. "You'd better take that one, it suits you better!" the saleswoman said. All right, then the more exclusive version. I put it directly on my forearm and then - bang! What a fragrance! Brachial at first, stunning in the truest sense of the word. It was too much of a good thing for me at first. I wasn't used to something like this. But I sniffed my arm like a madwoman for the rest of the day, even the next day. Although that wouldn't have been necessary given its radiance. I liked it more and more as time went on... so creamy, rosy, feminine and deep... I was impressed, and I was also tempted, but I didn't buy the fragrance at first. After all, it costs a lot.

On my next visit to the perfumery in question, I tested out a few Chanel fragrances. Nice here. When asked by the saleswoman, I commented on the Delina Exclusive: "Great fragrance, but somehow it doesn't suit me."

Weeks later, in another perfumery, Delina Exclusiv was beaming at me again. "Try me again", the bottle seemed to whisper. All right. Let's not be like that. My nose, now a little more accustomed to the penetrating power of the fragrance, jumped for joy.

A few weeks later, I finally put my money where my mouth was. Delina Exclusif may not always suit me, but sometimes it does. Namely, whenever I want to feel particularly soft and warm, rosy and tender, but strong and deep and a little mysterious. And particularly seductive.
