Fake it so real, I am beyond Fake / Marissa Zappa's Coveted Lipstick Scent
After trying Annabel's Birthday Cake by the same perfumer, I am pleasantly shocked by her range and ability to create scents that indulge in scenery.

As a fan of the original art exhibit "The Pink Bedroom" by Portia Munson in the Museum of Sex, I am similarly captivated by this perfume's ability to get the rebellious nature of weaponized naiveté in misogyny. I think it is a caricature (much like the art itself) of womanhood, as a general concept. This smells of cosmetic powder, lipstick, strawberry syrup, berries, sugar, and everything nice (including a plastic assortment of everything girly).

This is a caricature, an intentional mockery of things ascribed to "girlhood".

It is mostly berries and powder on me, but I love it! It's a great scent for just chilling out, post shower intimately. It makes me feel youthful, sultry, and very cooool. It's strawberry note is plasticky but the blackcurrant is photorealistic.

It doesn't have a huge sillage range, especially after a few hours, but I can still smell it on my skin. It dries down to a cool, clean, sensual musk, making it more interesting than a typical sweet scent.

dirty guava
fresh fruit, and sprouting flowers from a jungle (or otherwise organic source) with nitrogenous, loamy soil. it is fertile, fresh, and surprisingly wearable. it is overwhelmingly mushroom and dirt on me, but fresh dirt, and to me it's heavenly! might not be everyone's taste, though. the fruit and flowers just *barely* come through, but it's still enjoyable!

the latex note says it all
i love this fragrance. i'm a huge enjoyer of Zappas' work and this was my introduction. this is a beautiful reimagined birthday cake, painting a whole scene rather than making the cake edible. i used to hate gourmands, but now i realize they just need to be balanced with a fun note. this is an indulgent, hyperrealistic and poppy perfume for those who cried on their birthdays. the heliotrope i can imagine being tubed as petals onto the cake, helium filled ballons behind a young girl pouting, as the floral and zesty vanilla frosting rots teeth. it is not easily wearable and for that i appreciate it; you wont smell like anyone else!
