Lipstick
Do you know the smell of lipstick? When you open the lid and apply it, you get a typical lipstick/powder smell.

When I spray this fragrance, I immediately feel transported back to my childhood. When I was still at the age when I wasn't allowed to wear make-up, but did it secretly when mom wasn't around. A make-up case full of powder, lipstick and make-up from top brands like Chanel, YSL etc. was a dream for me, even if I didn't know what to do with the brands at the time, even if it was forbidden...

For me, the fragrance skillfully captures the delicate scent of lipstick and powder. It's funny somehow, who wants to smell like make-up, but this fragrance is just brilliant for me, so different. I don't find it old-fashioned at any time, I think it smells very mature, but not just for mature women aged 50+, it doesn't have enough Chanel potential for that, because aldehydes are only used very discreetly for me here, which is very good.

After "Eau Duelle", the Diptyque fragrances are increasingly coming to the fore for me, which I will definitely take a closer look at...

"Fleur de Peau" is also my next purchase candidate, which I'm really looking forward to alongside "Eau Duelle"...

Scent bomb at JFK airport
Can you write a review for a men's fragrance as a woman? No matter I just do it, because it must go out! Helpeee the fragrance bomb has burst, Somewhere in the nowhere at JFK airport.

When my husband and I had some time at the airport in NY in 2019 before our flight headed home, we strolled through the perfumery to sniff a little. My husband bravely grabbed the bottle of Dior Sauvage and sprayed like there was no tomorrow. I was so irritated by his eager spraying of himself that I couldn't reign in so quickly to tell him to try out the scent on a test strip first before he drizzled it all over himself. Well there it was then already too late. The fragrance bomb had already burst, but so much so, with a force that not much would have been missing that he would probably have been immediately locked away for it, it would have been a real bomb. And I as an accomplice for omitted restraint of the spray orgy. "You can't be serious, what has gotten into you?" I asked or yelled at him, I honestly don't remember because I was so befuddled by this expansive cloud of scent emanating from him that any ability to react on my part was limited. I have to be honest, never before has it been so uncomfortable sitting next to my husband. 8 hours on a plane, trapped next to someone who emits such a penetrating odor is an unbearable ordeal. But to reassure you, he couldn't smell himself after what felt like 10 minutes out of 8 hours either.

When I washed the laundry from the vacation at home and me this sweater with Sauvage soaked fragrance in the hands much, I became vomit sick. And I'll tell you what, this scent is so penetrating and pervasive that he pursued me even after the freshly washed laundry. The sweater still smelled like it and I think to my dismay, it still does today. It's in the very back of my husband's closet and he hasn't worn it since. i always wonder why?! haha.... I haven't smelled it since, I just don't dare. And now 4 years later I was sitting on the train yesterday on the way to work, in the morning at 7 o'clock and then the scent bomb burst again, but this time somewhere in the nowhere in the regional express towards Frankfurt. The whole train compartment was again drowned out with this foul-smelling companion, sometimes not bad in full trains, but then the smell of stale air in the train is more pleasant to me.

Sorry to all lovers of this fragrance, but the is so obnoxiously penetrating that I think even in well-dosed spraying, he is unbearable. At least not for me. Or maybe that's just my husband's bad spraying manners and I'm scarred for life. I don't know, but when a scent takes up so much space, literally, it's really not pretty. In this sense, do not be angry with me you dear male carriers out there, but I am unfortunately damaged.

Mom? Where are you? I can smell you, but you're not here!
A tribute to my mom... Yvresse by YSL and Opium by YSL was in the 90`s the signature fragrance of my mom. Today she wears exclusively Eau des Merveilles by Hermés, fits her like a second skin. She doesn't like it so loud anymore. Is probably so when you get older.

When my husband and I bought Grandma's house last year and my mother-in-law cleaned out the basement, a rare find was found in one of the basement rooms. There was a separate room in the basement just for Grandpa and his worn horse clothes, riding pants, etc. Grandma wanted it that way.... My mother-in-law actually found a small bottle of Yvresse among all the clothes. Since the bottle was still well filled, she probably thought it was too bad to throw it away. And that was a good thing. So where to put the bottle she found? Sure, off to the daughter-in-law, who has such a soft spot for fragrances. Well my mother in law knows me ;-)

So I took the bottle and made him open, carefully smelled it and there she was! The memory! Immediately I felt transported back to my childhood. It was Christmas Eve, December 24 sometime in the 1990s. I was about nine years old. My mom was sitting in the car in front of me, looking posh as always, wearing her dark red lipstick, high heels, a black velvet dress and wearing Yvresse by YSL. So natural, as if there had never been anything else for you. Simply Mama. It suited her, although she was never the person who liked to be the center of attention. Always discreetly reserved.

I asked my mother-in-law where you found the bottle. "It was in the riding cellar, the room where Grandpa always stored his riding pants and you know, my mother (Grandma) was always very difficult when it came to unpleasant odors, so you sprayed the riding clothes of Grandpa always with the perfume." What??? She didn't exactly say that now and grandma didn't really do that did she?! In fact, our Grandma Elli used to use Yvresse to spray Grandpa's horse stuff so she wouldn't have to smell the horse smell. What a shame! There are so many memories in that. Oh mom I feel sorry for you. If I told her that. There are also other things that were sprayed with perfume at Grandma and Grandpa's house, for example, the garbage can was sprayed with Chanel No. 5, it could be that the garbage men would fall down because of the stench. I wonder which of the two evils for the garbage men was worse, the actual residual waste to smell or the residual waste with Chanel No. 5 (please forgive me Chanel No.5 lovers) No offense.

Well and so it came that I became by a funny coincidence, owner of a long-gone love of my mom. "I want to smell that again" she said. So far I have always forgotten to take it to our visits. But I will, so that mom has the same memory as I do....

My beloved husband...
Hach with men it is not quite so simple when it comes to the own fragrances of us women. At least with my husband is so ;-)

What the gentleman also gets held under the nose, the gruesome facial expression speaks for itself ... It's an ordeal every time I buy a new fragrance, "Stick to one fragrance and do not use so many different" says the Lord. I am extremely difficult when it comes to fragrances anyway, he says, I see it differently. Yes ok, I admit, I always need something new and can be difficult with always the same fragrance. "You need a signature scent" he says "A scent I connect you with when you leave the house in the morning, your clothes smell like it". Well ok. Is also something nice, if you have such a fragrance with which you are satisfied over and over again, which fits all occasions, never becomes intrusive, which you just buy again and again. In my environment, many have that and I envy them, my sisters, my mother, my boss, mother in law even my husband has his signature fragrance. Only with me somehow difficult. But... there is indeed, the fragrance that I have already bought several times, because it just fits. That is for me This is her of Z&V. A fragrance that always fits, is never too sweet or even pungent, totally balanced, although he is sweet, I do not feel him as teenie sweet. It always fits for me on any occasion. In the opening I perceive very strongly a lilac note that takes a long time to disappear, which is not bad at all, because I love lilac. Still, This is her by Z&V is not my signature scent, although I have already almost killed the 2nd 100ml bottle. I wonder why not!!! I don't know, I think it's great and by the way, my beloved husband loves this scent on me! That's the only one too, he has a hard time with all the others. Not to believe that he is once satisfied with a fragrance of me and every time says NEW buy IMMEDIATELY! My 2nd bottle no longer has much intus, whether I will re-buy him a 3rd time?! Let's see.... But I know who would definitely be happy about it....

The masseuse
aaaahh, what am I excited, my first Parfumo review, which could be a little longer.... LVEB blew under my nose first when I received a soothing full body massage. With my eyes closed and relaxing music playing, I was now lying on the massage table in the back room as the masseuse gave me a soothing massage. Again and again, an indescribably lovely, sweet and yet elegant absolutely not intrusive fragrance wafted around my nose. No, that was not the massage oil ...

At the end of the performance, I asked the lady after work done friendly about your fragrance. She said "LVEB, which is quite new on the perfume market". Nice! Said, Done, the next day in the perfumery and bagged the fragrant Wässerchen.

If you know me, you know I mean it not always good with my fellow ;-) because when it comes to fragrances, I could not quite dose the spray head in my younger years. Like someone who stands with iron on the foot' m gas pedal, I have always nebulized properly, could be that the scent is simply gone after a few hours ... That must not happen in any case. My biggest mistake with this fragrance, to suffer my fellow men, started with my boss and ended with my mom.

The newly acquired fragrance water wanted to be carried out now, so the next day nice eingedieselt and off to the office. No good idea, my boss came, smelled and disappeared with a headache ... "Ei Ei Janna, there you have it but well meant with your perfume, next time please less". "Oh Lord dear", I thought to myself, "what does she have again", smells good...

A week later and well-dosed, my mom came to visit me, for a joint shopping trip. We had a small car ride ahead of us u.a. over the highway. When we got into the car, I had to listen to me again, "Puuhh child what haste for a sweet and intrusive perfume on you?" Well uncommented we drove off, as we then drove after a few minutes on the highway and my mom suddenly said "No, so this is such a corrosive perfume, I get here no more air!" With 100 things over the highway you immediately tore open all existing and functioning windows in the car. Had you been able to open the trunk while driving, you would have opened the also still sperrangelweit!

Well, there it was then over with us, so the perfume and me. Well-dosed LVEB is a real highlight and not for nothing the bestseller from the house of Lancome. I have all the negative comments from my immediate environment, spoiled the desire for this perfume, which is then already such a feeling as, "ne that can not bring again, the people run amok, if you wear that again" so away with it. This is now 7 years ago and every time I go in the perfumery past the LVEB shelf, I make a wide berth around it and I rise bad memories. So that with us both is unfortunately nothing more in this life ...
