In this case: All Power to the Drugs
No, I don’t smoke or toke, and the only thing I’m really addicted to is perfumes, and should they ever become illegal for whatever reason, I’d gladly go to jail for my addiction if it comes to that.
Mr. Gualtieri, how can one name a perfume after a type of hashish?
Quite simply by composing an extrait that puts the best ganja in Jamaica to shame.

Yes, I admit it, Black Afgano is my hashish, it gets me high. I inhale it and savor the woody-sweet note every second. Black Afgano envelops me like a black veil on a dark and cold night in the fog. Immediately in the heart of the scent, I feel warmth and I want more of this warmth; this sweet earthy undertone makes me a captive, no, I’ll stick to the theme, it makes me a junkie.

Is Black Afgano timeless? Yes.
Is Black Afgano mysterious? Yes.
Is Black Afgano worth its money? Oh yes.
Is Black Afgano a simple perfume? No, it is my drug in artistic form.

But it is legal, ya man!!

Ar-rih min asahra l'maghribia
Born near the Moroccan desert and having spent several months in the desert of Morocco, I know exactly how desert air smells.
Four years ago, I was in Erfoud, not far from this small town lie the sand dunes of Merzouga. Anyone who can handle the heat should visit this magical place.
So, did I miss the point?

So dear Andy, to begin with, I love this scent, but it doesn’t smell like pure desert. When no Chergui (referring to eastern wind currents, not Serge Lutens' creation) is blowing, the wind is hardly present, and in the evening, the air is dry and cool due to the lack of vegetation. If one wants a perfume that comes close to this feeling, I recommend "Dune" by Dior.

"L'air du dèsert marocain" is also dry upon application, but less like a desert and more like the air in a souk in Marrakech, and overall this scent reminds me more of Djemaa el fna, the marketplace in Marrakech.
At first, there’s a bitter and warm note, then soft notes appear from time to time, and finally, both are in perfect harmony. This scent is never sweet, never completely bitter, but always finds the balance-a wonderful fragrance. The inspiration for Mr. Tauer was actually not the pure desert air but the impression one has on the terrace when one simply unwinds in an evening in a desert-adjacent city. The desert air carries all the scents with it: those from the souk, from the local bakery, etc., and thus this beautiful "desert air" is created. So, did I miss the point? Not at all!

Prototyp A*men
Jacques Huclier was certainly inspired by Animale Animale when he created his modern classic for Thierry Mugler.
No, Animale Animale is different and only vaguely resembles A*men, yet the small similarities that exist are significant.

Animale Animale is more wearable than A*men; it will stand out as unpleasant to far fewer people despite its heaviness.
It starts with an unusual and extremely good honey-pineapple combination, but completely different from A*men.
This honey note accompanies us from the top note to the dry down, becoming softer through the sandalwood and smelling extremely delicious.
The base with patchouli and vanilla then strongly reminds of A*men, although it never smells exactly like A*men; it might be the sweetness of the pineapple, the heaviness of the honey, or the light soft tobacco note in the background. Animale Animale is different, and that's a good thing.
I love A*men, but for everyone who finds it too intrusive, too harsh, and too strange, Animale Animale is a great alternative.

Bottle: Glass plus plastic, actually quite cheap, but I find this 80's style bottle so brilliant 8/10
Longevity: 5-7 hours, less than A*men, yet still a fairly long-lasting scent 7/10
Uniqueness: A super scent, sweet but complex and perfect for winter 8/10
Price: about 30 euros for 100ml of quality juice, enough said! 10/10

Overall:

Him - Alaya
"Him" is said to mean snow in Sanskrit and "Alaya" translates to place.
The inevitable association with cold and clean air arises immediately with this word.
Just as quickly, it dissipates once you spray "Himalaya" by Creed.
Nevertheless, I find the name fitting, and I will explain why.

Upon spraying, you are surrounded by a clear citrus-dominated note, very crisp and cool like the peak of a mountain.
This top note, however, quickly gives way to a base of sandalwood, vetiver, and juniper berry without completely disappearing.
To describe the scent in a conventional way, it smells like noble shaving foam with citrus.

But why does the name "Himalaya" fit?
Because I recognize the idea behind the perfume; juniper berries actually grow at the foot of the Himalayas, and the neighboring countries like Tibet, Nepal, etc. certainly offer more than just fresh mountain air.
Himalaya is a clean scent without being cold; rather, it unites the various elements and facets of the neighboring countries.

This majestic mountain complex would not have been done justice with a refreshing and light perfume, but even this perfume, which it ultimately became, does not fully do it justice. However, it is a wonderfully clean scent for all occasions, and I completely buy into the vision and idea of immortalizing the Himalayas in a bottle.

Pardon me sir, is that Earl Grey you're wearing?
No, dear sir, I am wearing "Gucci pour homme II"
One might think that as a Moroccan I swear by my Moroccan mint tea, but that's wrong; I prefer Earl Grey, that black tea named after British Prime Minister Charles Grey.
Gucci pour homme II is like a good warm cup of Earl Grey.

Already upon spraying, the fine aroma of black tea surrounds you, as if you have your nose over a tea bag tin.
This blends with the sweetness of fine cinnamon and is pleasantly softened by white musk.
A cup of Earl Grey with a little rock sugar and a splash of milk, that's exactly how Gucci pour homme II is.
I love Earl Grey
I love GphII
Tea time!
